Visiting Recife, you cannot miss its newest attraction, the modern and beautiful "Museu Cais do Sertão"! At a walking distance from "Praça do Marco Zero", at the "Recife Antigo" quarter, it honors the culture, traditions and history of the "sertanejos". These men, women and children - the so called "sertanejos" - living in the remotest areas of the region (the "sertão"), facing long dry seasons and adverse conditions, bravely resist. "Museu Cais do Sertão", through its museography project, brings freshness and modernity to Recife.
