Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Next to the Praça Marco Zero (also known as Praça Rio Branco) the most important square in old Recife is the Praça do Arsenal. The name of the plaza is in reference to the 'Arsenal da Marinha', a building from the 19th century, which once stood here and of which now only the former astronomic observatory, the Torre Malakoff, has been left.

The pleasant square with many palm trees has apparently been designed by Roberto Burle Marx, the well known landscape architect, whose work can also be admired in Brasilia and at the Copacabana Promenade. In the middle of the square is a bronze bust of Amirante de Tamandaré, considered as the patron of the Brazilian navy.

At the Praça do Arsenal can be found the 'Paço do Frevo', the Palace of the Frevo, a museum dedicated to that typical dance and musical style, associated with the Pernambuco carnival. As it says on an information board in front of the museum, the building had been contructed in 1901 as the seat of the now closed British 'Western Telegraph Company'.
