The moment you get down from the taxi you are surrounded by about 15-20 pandits looking to fleece you by promising best darshan etc. We decided to not take any pandit with us but the shop where we bough prasad from and kept our shoes gave one to us in Rs 20. This was a big mistake since the moment... More

This is a very old and famous temple in Kolkata. Supposed to be one of the Shaktipeethas, where Devi Sati's tongue had fallen. The deity inside the temple has a large golden tongue. The place is highly crowded and humid. The floors are often stewn with litter and dirty water. It was a hurried visit and hence couldn't see much... More

You will get a priest-guide during your brief visit who will walk you through the facility. They will ask you for contributions and they always ask for steep sums of money - you are not obliged to give... More

Not at all! Impressed by this temple. We were harassed by pandas. Long and inside. Priests only interested in your wallet. Noticed goat sacrifice. Not my cup of tea!

I don't believe in god very much, but I still went there to sit beside the river Ganga and enjoy the sun set for entire evening. I can forget a single moment.

Wished I could attain happiness on seeing Kali ma but not sure have i visited the kali ma which i was supposed to see. Never go along with anybody who says I will guide you. They will make you pay for that. Don't even try to talk with them. They will convince you saying just buy this. Just go inside... More

The area around the temple is congested. It felt like Cleanliness was amongst the last priorities for the temple management. The place where they make goat sacrifices is near exit of the temple and not meant for people with weak heart. In the exit path also there were blood stains which were never cleaned. Me & my brother also lost... More
