Most of the museum is under renovation. Artefacts are not properly maintained. Staff are ill-behaved, some proper training needs to be imparted to these creatures.

Its invertibrate gallery is wonderful and one of the best in the world. Also you might see the Egyptian mummy as well as the skeleton of the big whale.

Indian museum (jadu ghar) is the oldest museum in India, heard from friends that there is 4000 year old mummy in the museum so I decided to visit this place, must visit place in Kolkata specially for school kids, highly recommended.

Every Monday it is closed. On other days it's open from 10am to 5pm, in winter upto 430pm. And 15th August, 26th January, Holi, Dussera, Diwali are closed days. Enjoy your journey

Yes, closest two wheeler parking is under the flyover. Else, you may park in closeby sudder street.

There are no fixed or particular parking spot or place. You may Park the bus beside Museum (Sudder street) or you may go to Sahid Minar parking area. Better ask your driver to stay near to Bus to avoid any traffic problem.
