Quite messy as we visited on a rainy day. No proper clean path to walk on. As it is located on a busy street, it was crowded and noisy. We made a quick darshan and exited.

Devotees of Lord Shiva throng this temple every morning in Mylapore area. There is a temple pond adjacent to it, where festivities are carried out during auspicious occasions. The whole area gets life and energy out of this place.

Appropriate time to visit this place during evening when you can see the evening rituals. The temple is cleaner compared to other hindu temples i have visited. Exquisite colour combinations of the structures and paintings will mesmerize you surely.

Great way to spend an afternoon immersed in the utter mystery which is occult Hinduism. This temple really takes the tourist into the heart of this ancient culture.

A living ancient temple. As a Hindu I visited to appreciate the art and sculpture but to also worship. I liked that the temple maintains a shelter for cows and feeds the poor everyday. I never realized the portuguese partially destroyed the original temple, but...More
