popular but well maintained. Gaudy painting of the age old architecture a la south indian style is also present. In Mylapore, close to very dirty Santhome beach. Didn't feel any increase of energy, but bliss, yes. Priests are not haughty. Overall, worth a visit.

Visited the temple last week. Have visited earlier many times. This time I was surprised to note a board with the spelling of 'DIETIES' in the place of 'DEITIES' - may the authorities attend on this. Thank you. Visitors must use the " free " footwear facility.

My hearts rests in peace every time I go into the temple. Place with ancient, traditional and moderate. Peaceful and everyone must go at least once in life time.

This was the first temple we visited in Tamil Nadu, and the first glimpse of it is stunning. The unique style of temples in this area features wildly colorful painting. You must remove shoes to visit, but you may wear socks. An active, busy temple.

A beautiful temple at the heart of Chennai. The temple has references by shaivite saints in old scriptures. The temple is a compact attraction and is different from large temples of Tamilnadu. The main deities are Lord Kapaleeswara and Mother Karpagambal. This temple is an example of women's empowerment as one has to visit the mother first before the Lord!... More

Wonderful experience, devine! Go in the morning, by 7am. Ideal weather too. There are many deities and small temples inside. Do talk to regular visitors to get more knowledge about the temple. This is a very traditional temple, do wear traditional if you can. Keep silence. Avoid photography insider if possible. Caution: Do not buy any food items from the... More
