    Jal Mahal
Jal Mahal if visited Udaipur, you will find this place not worth. You will not be able to visit the mahal like udaipur by boat. You just enjoy the viewing the place from shore. Its like picnic point of residents. You will have many eating hawkers, street shopping , camel ride etc around. Overall its just a ok place to cover. If missed its not to be upset.

    Lazy evening
Nice place but just a photo option. Not allowed inside or near the palace. But the lake side has a cluster of shops selling fancy trinkets and snack items. Can spend a pleasant lazy evening

    Pass this place
It could have been an architecturally impressive palace to admire, but the roadside, offering the best view, is filthy and filled with street hawkers. The water is so dirty and has a bad smell. The best time to visit is after evening.

Not as nice as I imagined.
I agree with some of the previous reviewers. I went in the morning. Cloudy and you could not really see anything standing on the road with all the noise! I imagined this to be a serene place where you could appreciate the beauty. I am guessing it may be better to go in the evening.

Mahal located in the middle of lake
Jal Mahal is a palace located in the middle of a lake in Jaipur. No tickets are required, and it can be viewed from the road. There are no boating or water activities available. I would recommend to get the photoshoot done from here in Jaipur ethnic wear. It's very reasonable. Street stalls near the palace attract tourists. I bought so many bangles and home decor items.

Beautiful- but only viewed from shore at this time
The Jal Mahal was built with red sandstone in the eighteenth century. It was closed when I went and I could only view it from the shore. It has a beautiful setting and can be accessed by boat when it opens. The shore area is very lively with vendors selling street food, various ornaments and many other things.

A shame you cannot visit it
The appropriately named Jal Mahal (Water Palace) sits in the middle of a lake. Looking so serene from the side of the lake, it's a shame that you cannot visit it. However, there is a convenient car park (with food and other vendors) from which you can take in its beauty and wonder why someone would build such a palace in the middle of a lake.

    Jal Mahal
Visiting Jal Mahal in Jaipur solo was serene and enchanting. The palace floating on Man Sagar Lake offered a tranquil escape from the bustling city. Its architectural beauty against the backdrop of the Aravalli hills was mesmerizing, creating a perfect spot for quiet contemplation and admiration.

You can get dropped off along the side of the lake where there are viewing points to take photos of the Palace on the lake. There are many crafts being sold along here who want to sell you something so be ready to haggle. Don't miss the wildlife statues here of an elephant, peacock etc leading into an arch.
Busy area, no toilets that I could see so go before hand.

The still waters give a perfect reflection and so this is good for a photograph. You can only view this from the road and cannot go into it. It was a former hunting palace and is presently being converted.
There is a market in the area by the place that gives the best views. The lake smelled when we were there and dead fish floating in it. Our guide told us that was due to a chemical release the previous week.

It is now known as Taj Lake Palace. It is located right in the midst of Lake Pichola. Standing tall and beautiful in the middle of Lake, Taj Lake Palace is an 18th-century historic stay in the City of Lakes offering an ethereal experience of the era of kings and queens

Located in the middle of a lake, you can click a few photos from the roadside and spend some time here. There is no way to enter the palace. Visit this while going to or coming back from Amber fort or Jaigarh fort.

Just like my last visit in 2017, I am still confused why this structure was built. This time I had an even worse experience with a foul smell in the waters when we tried to get some pictures from the road. The hawkers on the street makes the things a bit more clumsy. This place can be avoided..

The Lake Palace of Jaipur is an architectural marvel. Nestled in the middle of the lake it is no doubt a treat to watch from the shore. However, as a tourist we are not allowed to enter the building and the charm ends with a few clicks from the shore. Hopefully someday it is renovated enough for the tourist to enjoy its glamour from within through a short boat ride.

Jal Mahal is ideal place for all age groups. Best time is evening in summers and sunshine time in winters. You can't go inside as it's closed for public but you can spend an hour for street walk and capturing the pics. In evening, bargain shopping is not a bad idea for local items.

Earlier it was free entry ,but now authority has started paid access to stupid market and see Jalmahal. Market entry staff behaviour was very bad they ask me to pay multile time for entry ticket even money has credited to their account.
When i ask to return my extra paid money they start talking roughly and came to fight with me.. I had worst experience here among all tour visit in India and abroad.

We had to stop roadside to view the Jal Mahal which is located in the middle of Man Sagar Lake. It was built as theatre. It is a beautiful site from a distance on a foggy day. There were plenty of traditional handicrafts venders and sellers along the roadside.

SEE photos.

The Jal Mahal, which means "Water Palace" in Hindi, is a stunning pink sandstone building that appears to float in the middle of Man Sagar Lake. Especially at sunset, the whole place turns a magical pink thanks to the reflection on the water. Fun fact: even though it looks like a one-story palace, most of it is actually submerged underwater!

The history behind Jal Mahal is interesting too. Built by Maharaja Jai Singh II in the early 1700s, it wasn't originally meant to be a grand residence. Some believe it was a hunting lodge where the Maharaja could relax after a day out hunting ducks on the lake. Others say it was a place for royal parties and celebrations. Whatever the reason, it's definitely a unique and beautiful piece of Jaipur's history. These days, you can't go inside, but it's still a must-see landmark!
