Elefantastic Elephant Farm is a unique and inspiring experience that is a must do for anyone visiting India. Elefantastic Elephant Farm is owned and managed by a former Elephant Rider (Mahut), farm focusing on health-care and breeding management for friendly, beautiful and special elephants to produce healthy elephants to live on Earth. /., Although Elefantastic Elephant Farm was only born on 21st February 2012, my family's involvement with our elephants backdate to over 4 generations ago. Before Elefantastic Elephant Farm materialised, I was an elephant rider at amber palace for 9 years, providing riding tours for the many tourists that visited amber palace. Although I enjoyed being an elephant rider at amber palace & met many tourists, I couldn't help wanting something more meaningful, not for me, but for my elephants. Many of the tourists I met were interested in the day to day life of elephants and what I do with them, rather than just wanting an ordinary ride. As I pondered on the possible opportunities, I realized that I wanted to show people a more in depth insight into the lives of my elephants. There are vast misconceptions across India that animals - especially elephants - are very badly mistreated. I decided that I want to prove to people that this is not always the case and take a step forward in eradicating these misconceptions. This decision inspired me to start Elefantastic Elephant Farm, which gives an insight into the daily lives of our elephants. You will see that all of our elephants are well fed, with spacious rooms, attentive vet check ups every week to make sure they're all at the peak of their health, with loving and caring riders.

We had a wonderful experience! Rahul and his team were excellent and professional. Our day started with a pick-up from our hotel, after which we went to Rahul's house for lunch- his mom had made a delicious home cooked meal. After this, we visited the sanctuary where we got to spend time with our elephants. IT WAS AMAZING! Such a... More

Our day trip to Elefantastic was the highlight of our trip to India. It is more expensive than some other India attractions but is definitely worth the visit. From the interaction with the elephants to the excellent host Rahul and his extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff to the wonderful home cooked meal by Rahul's mother, I can't recommend it highly... We met a couple who had been to Elefantastic and were so enthusiastic we decided to forego a couple of museums and try it for ourselves much to our proud guide's distress. And we were not disappointed. Neither of us have hugged an elephant before. Rahul, the founder, is the fourth generation of elephant handlers but he has found a... More

This place very entertaining but very expensive. You can put it into our last to-do list. Instead you can spend more time to Amber fort.

I've had other experiences with elephants in South Africa,Thailand and Cambodia, but Elefantastic was exceptional. It's a "real" experience without the touristy feel. Spending a very personal afternoon actually connecting with a magnificent mammal was a highlight of my Indian visit. Rahul and his staff's devotion to their animals is obvious and the elephants know they are in a good... More

What a wonderful place! Run by a hospitable, welcoming, and informative team who clearly care for the animals in their care. The visit also includes a wonderful home cooked lunch at the Proprietor's home. Truely worth a visit!

I visited elefantastic along with my daughters who are 11 and 15 years old. This was the one thing they remember most about the entire trip. Their driver promptly picked us up from the hotel at 9 am. After arriving at the farm, we started by feeding our elephant "Sampa" who is a rescue elephant from Amer Fort. The girls... More

Is this ethical?

I found this website on Trip advisor and was astonished to see.....elephant painting and elephant bare back rides? What are the policies on animal welfare? How are they cared for?

Many tourists are animal lovers who don't realize that elephant rides and other wildlife attractions can cause harm to the animals

Travel companies around the world profit from some of the cruellest types of wildlife tourist attractions on earth.

Whether it is riding elephants, taking selfies with tigers, or performing dolphin shows, these activities can cause lifelong suffering for wild animals.

Last year Oxford University’s Wildlife Conservation Research Unit (WildCRU) analysed 24 different types of wildlife attractions across the world. They rated them based on welfare and conservation criteria - this information was combined with recent research to identify 10 of the world’s cruellest types of attractions.....number one being elephant rides.

Riding elephants

In order to make elephants submit to elephant rides and other human interactions, they are taken from their mothers when babies and forced through a horrific training process known as ‘the crush’. It involves physical restraints, inflicting severe pain and withholding food and water. By the time tourist come to ride an elephant, it may look at peace, but this is because it’s spirit has been broken. The bullhook used permanently reminds the animal of human dominance.

The cruelty does not end after the crush. When not performing or used for rides most elephants are kept on chains, unable to socially interact with one another. This is hugely damaging to their physical and psychological wellbeing.

Up to 550,000 wild animals are currently enduring lifetimes of suffering at tourist entertainment venues globally.

Please do not promote animals in tours or as attractions but let's embrace them in their natural habitats.
