Elefantastic Elephant Farm is a unique and inspiring experience that is a must do for anyone visiting India. Elefantastic Elephant Farm is owned and managed by a former Elephant Rider (Mahut), farm focusing on health-care and breeding management for friendly, beautiful and special elephants to produce healthy elephants to live on Earth. /., Although Elefantastic Elephant Farm was only born on 21st February 2012, my family's involvement with our elephants backdate to over 4 generations ago. Before Elefantastic Elephant Farm materialised, I was an elephant rider at amber palace for 9 years, providing riding tours for the many tourists that visited amber palace. Although I enjoyed being an elephant rider at amber palace & met many tourists, I couldn't help wanting something more meaningful, not for me, but for my elephants. Many of the tourists I met were interested in the day to day life of elephants and what I do with them, rather than just wanting an ordinary ride. As I pondered on the possible opportunities, I realized that I wanted to show people a more in depth insight into the lives of my elephants. There are vast misconceptions across India that animals - especially elephants - are very badly mistreated. I decided that I want to prove to people that this is not always the case and take a step forward in eradicating these misconceptions. This decision inspired me to start Elefantastic Elephant Farm, which gives an insight into the daily lives of our elephants. You will see that all of our elephants are well fed, with spacious rooms, attentive vet check ups every week to make sure they're all at the peak of their health, with loving and caring riders.

A wonderful contrast to bustling busy India! We were collected from our hotel and taken to the quiet calm of the farm. Rahul made us very welcome and clearly explained how to approach the elephants. We had Nellie (not her real name). My husband very quickly fell in love with her! We fed her and had great fun painting her.... More

Wow, what a day. Rahul from Elefantastic arranged a Jaipur in a day tour for us because we were on a tight time schedule. The guide was very informative and we were able to knock out the main sights in Jaipur in a day. We ended the day at Elefantastic were we were able feed, paint and wash Lakshmi, our... More

I was already breaking the bank on my trip to India so I grumbled when someone in my group mentioned the price regarding a stop here but it was ABSOLUTELY WORTH it. I didn’t have a thing for elephants as many people in my life do but I certainly developed a greater interest for learning about them after interacting with... More

We enjoyed our trip to the Elefantastic Elephant Village so much. We were picked up by a friendly driver who told us about the city and pointed out a few key sights on the way. We stopped off for a delicious vegetarian meal prepared by Rahul's mother before meeting the elephants, which was truly lovely. Then we got to meet... More

My partner and I visited Elefantastic when traveling through Jaipur in early September. We spent a total of 30 days traveling around India and knew that at some point, we wanted to spend some time with elephants. After doing some pretty extensive research about elephant experiences all over India, Elefantastic seemed to be the best fit. When the time finally... More

Spending time with Anu, feeding her, and getting elephant hugs was the highlight of our trip! We enjoyed asking questions about both Anu and elephants in general to the staff who were all extremely attentive. The lunch we had before was also delicious!! I would highly recommend this to anyone who has the opportunity!

Elefantastic was exactly as Rahul described it (and more) - an oasis in a hectic holiday. Being so close to these beautiful animals, all of them completely at ease with us and their bond-free surroundings, watched over by a staff who took care of our every need. From the humility and hospitality of Rahul's family (for lunch) to the hose... More

Our day at Elefantastic was one of our trip highlights. Our driver timely picked us up in a comfortable, A/C car and took us to the farm. We met Rahul and could tell from the passion in his voice that he genuinely cared for the wellbeing of each elephant. We were introduced to our elephant a beautiful 52 year old... More

Amazing time spent with Anu! My daughter and I spent a wonderful few hours at elefantastic and will certainly cherish the memory for years to come! The staff was outstanding! Everyone was super helpful and eager to answer questions! I was immediately much more comfortable with "Anu" than I ever imagined having never been near an elephant before. The staff... More

Is this ethical?

I found this website on Trip advisor and was astonished to see.....elephant painting and elephant bare back rides? What are the policies on animal welfare? How are they cared for?

Many tourists are animal lovers who don't realize that elephant rides and other wildlife attractions can cause harm to the animals

Travel companies around the world profit from some of the cruellest types of wildlife tourist attractions on earth.

Whether it is riding elephants, taking selfies with tigers, or performing dolphin shows, these activities can cause lifelong suffering for wild animals.

Last year Oxford University’s Wildlife Conservation Research Unit (WildCRU) analysed 24 different types of wildlife attractions across the world. They rated them based on welfare and conservation criteria - this information was combined with recent research to identify 10 of the world’s cruellest types of attractions.....number one being elephant rides.

Riding elephants

In order to make elephants submit to elephant rides and other human interactions, they are taken from their mothers when babies and forced through a horrific training process known as ‘the crush’. It involves physical restraints, inflicting severe pain and withholding food and water. By the time tourist come to ride an elephant, it may look at peace, but this is because it’s spirit has been broken. The bullhook used permanently reminds the animal of human dominance.

The cruelty does not end after the crush. When not performing or used for rides most elephants are kept on chains, unable to socially interact with one another. This is hugely damaging to their physical and psychological wellbeing.

Up to 550,000 wild animals are currently enduring lifetimes of suffering at tourist entertainment venues globally.

Please do not promote animals in tours or as attractions but let's embrace them in their natural habitats.
