Crawford Market is fun to walk through. You're sure to find something you want to buy. They primarily have a lot of different produce, nuts and spices for sale. Many vendors to choose from when purchasing household items and even cosmetics. The structure that houses the market was built in the 19th century, and is just lovely.

One of the iconic structure of Mumbai. Going from Guwahati all i knew was you can get everything from the usual to the gourmet. The market didnt disappoint, though half of it was under restoration when we visited in Feb2017. The variety on displa was worth seeing. The market had ornate pillars, the roof and the outer facade was specialfor... More

Crawford Market, located in south Mumbai, is one of the oldest markets with both retail and wholesale outlets. The structure has a grand Victorian facade and it houses hundreds of shops selling almost everything - cosmetics, footwear, electronics, food, toys, stationery, etc. Just like other markets in India, it provides an excellent street photography opportunity to the keen observer. It... More

We walked to the Crawford market from the Train terminal. Quite a long walk. The building is very spectacular. The market has lots of nuts and spices, plus fruits. Well worth a visit, but it gets very hot in the summer.

The market is very crowded and you will mostly find bags, shoes, toys and generally low priced items here. Fruits and vegetables, local sweets and spices can also be found here. It is just very crowded and you need to be prepared to spend some time making your way through the crowds. You do get to see the building with... More

Also, we were there on Holi and not much going on. Further, not the nicest market. Yet, I guess it interesting to see a local market. There is a nasty area for selling small animals. There was produce (fruits) but according to our guide the produce was not locally grown but instead imported from places like California and Washington state.

There are shops inside the market where you can shop for a variety of items including candies, pastas, fruits, animals, suitcases, and more. There weren't a lot of tourist-friendly restaurants in the area, and the whole area is unmarked and hard to navigate. I almost missed the outside portion of the market because it was covered up with walls and... More

The sprawling market based in South Bombay offers you everything from fruits to pets. However, one has got to be good at bargaining to get a good deal. A word of advise, don't buy a pet dog or cat from this place as you can't be assured of the pedigree here.
