Even if you don’t plan to travel by train to or from Mumbai, you have to go and visit the CST. It’s a must!

It is a historic station build in the 1800 and the headquarters of Central Railways. It is has a beautiful architecture and was earlier known s Victoria Terminus. It handles both local and inter city trains .

Designed by FW Stevens and built by Indian craftsmen, it is a rather beautiful building, on an even grander scale than some of the old railway architecture that still remains in Britain.

You can always see it from the outside, best - from the selfie point. Seeing it from the inside must be possible from the waiting/ticket counter area of the terminal. And there is a museum that is open from 2 to 5pm. You pay 200rupees...More

Worth a visit firstly to see the stunning architecture and to just stand and watch the busy commuters going about their journeys. Busy and noisy but appeared to run well.

This is India's first railway station which is developed by British government so the structure is same as Europium buildings. Love it
