This attractive spot is on the island of Salsette in the western outskirts of Mumba. This became an important Buddhist settlement on the Konkan coast by the 3rd century CE.

We took Ola. I believe the Kanaheri caves which are inside Sanjay Gandhi N P are opened all the time. There is a bus inside the park which can take you to the caves themselves.

The ticket office at the entrance is quite spacious. Perhaps the person at the ticket counter may permit you to keep some luggage and charge a small fee.
