This temple was submerged when KRS Dam was built. During drought the whole temple was dismantled and reconstructed on this new place. Care has been taken to duplicate the same scenario. Still not completely done but worth the visit.

A place where stressed mind meets the relaxation and body responds for the same and also with the Gods blessings. I prefer all the Mysuru visitors should visit here once.

It is one of the must visit places in Mysuru. You can reach this Beautiful Temple\Backwater travelling 8-10 Km after crossing Brindavan Garden. This temple was said to be submerged under water during the construction of KRS DAM. Later the temple was relocated and restored by Khoday group. Backwater would touch the out wall of the temple during Monsoon season.... More

VenuGopala Swamy Temple, Kannambadi Few decades ago, when Sir M. Visvesvaraya (in 1909) came up with the plans of the Krishna Raja Sagara Dam, he had to take a concious decision of submerging the surrounding areas which included few villages and also the beautiful Sri VenuGopala Swamy Temple for the purpose of creating the reservoir. So first and foremost, a... More

The existing Venugopal swamy temple structure was not there in that place 10 to 15 years back . But it did exist under KRS back waters centuries ago as per the historical literature . The frequent droughts which appeared more often than not , resulted in apprearance of the temple, from the back waters of Krishnaraja Sagar where it was... More

The Venugopala Swamy temple marked the end of our Mysore trip. We had read about this place thru TripAdvisor. Took out the GPS and went to explore the amazing temple. Its a bit far, as in ahead than the Brindavan Gardens, that said, when you reach, the amazing construction and serenity was just mesmerizing. Definitely worth a visit.
