The entry to the Ashrama is complimentary. One can see unbelievable species of birds without paying any fee, but any photos with the birds (select few birds) is charged. IN face a big highlight is a photo opportunity with huge macaws from South America. The other one is with smaller birds - you basically take a small tray of fruits... More

A wonderful parrot center, a very well maintained bonsai garden, peaceful temple, open grounds to play for kids and many tamarind trees...some of the highlights of this wonderful place! Kids are recommended to take their outdoor playing stuff, parents should take some food and enjoy eating in the shade of the trees....oh yes no photography allowed inside the parrot arena... More

A nice 3-4 hour activity place. While the Datta, Anjaneya (huge statue) and Sri Srinivasa temples attract devotees in large numbers, the Bird Park has an amazing collection too (Closes at 5 pm). The Musuem contains artefacts presented to Guruji during his numerous visits abroad/visiting dignitaries. One needs patience, energy and time to appreciate it. Plenty of vehicle parking space.... Very well maintained aviary . Lots and lots of birds and kakatoos. These birds which are from all over the world and endangered can be seen here .I wonder who imported these endangered species in India. The entry is free to the aviary but very rudely staffed. The camera sessions with the birds @ Rs300 per photo and the cameraman... More

This is the wonderful place in Mysuru but not much advertised. It a an Ashram actually which is more of religious place but the parrot garden and the bonsai garden are worth a visit. On the nandi hill road not much away from city, it is very peaceful place. The parrot garden is amazing with so many different type of... More

Journeying to this shrine takes time, but the real hit is to visit the bonsai (miniature garden) and the bird sanctuary. One must note that the cleanliness is good and nature lovers would enjoy this location.

Very well maintained place for birds. All caged birds and many endangered species. No photography allowed inside the parrots zones. Designated photographers take pictures but it is way too expensive, although it is good to have one Picture taken for a record.

The temple and Ashram is indeed a decent religious place but the best attractions are the Parrot garden and the bonsai garden. One possibly would not have seen such a vast variety of parrots in one place. You can feed the parrots for a small charge of INR 10. Once inside the feeding enclosure, parrots would be all over you.... More

This is something you don’t expect in Indian local holidays. This is indeed reflects amazing effort of preservation of flora and fauna by Avadhoota Datta Peetham Asharam. They have 2 different kinds of gardens. 1. Sukhavna Birds Park. This park consists of huge variety of parrots, pigeons, sparrows, cockatoos, kingfishers and many of exotic amazon bird species. They have informative... More
