Best weekend get away from Bangalore, & Mysore. Awesome architecture. Worth a visit. Exhibits the genius and the craftsmanship of the sculptors of the Hoyshala kings. Very well maintained by the Government. Has a small entrance fee.

This is a beautiful example of how rich the architecture of India is. The Design and patterns in this temple is so amazing that it gets you mesmerized. Even the sharpness of the rocks are still existing in the stones. Beautiful place to visit.

Visited Somnathpur temple on day trip to Mysore. Well kept historic site, all the architecture and structure is very much intact. Well worth to take a side trip there

This is more than 400 years old temple but still if you see the structure you could feel that it's been curved recently. Very beautiful temple and we need to be proud to see the old architecture of india

The temple is managed by Archeological Survey of India. It is open between 9-00 A.M. to 5 or 5-30 P.M. But entry will not be allowed after 4-00 P,M. There are qualified guides. It takes about 45 minutes from Mysore if... More

About an hour's drive from Mysore, and you can also visit Sultan Tipu's summer palace, or walk by the river near there......
