A 1269 AD Hoysala wonder. 35 km from Srirangapatna. Marvellous piece of temple art in rock – Called Chennakeshava Temple or Keshava temple- star shaped in look - Built by Somnath, the Commander of Hoysala King Narasimha III.

Less than an hour away from Mysore, this Keshava temple is one of the prime archetypes of Hoysala architecture. It is a protected monument with a wonderful lawn outside maintained by the ASI. Ensure you reach before 5:00 pm as they close entry at 5:30

India is an amazing country with ancient temples and beautiful rural countryside. One of the best things we did was to go and visit this temple! The carvings are extraordinary. The atmosphere is so pure. Highly recommend to any westerner.

Chennakesava temple at Somnathpura is one of the prominent temple of Hoysala architecture apart from Belur and Halebidu. The temple is well maintained by ASI and is a delight for history and architecture enthusiasts.

This Temple is not big as Belur and Helebidu but very similar structure .asuusal it has beautiful stone carvings. Had good time there.

This temple introduces travellers to magnificient style of architecture which Hoysala emperors encouraged and nourished for decades. Every carving and sculptures are simply awesome. Must visit place.
