The Kalka- shimla railway is a narrow - guage railway travelling along mostly mountainous route from Kalka to shimla....it was built by Britishers.....route has 107 tunnels and 864 bridges....it is known for beautiful view of hills and surrounding villages....there r 18 stations on the whole...More

Between 5 and 6 hours to go from Kalka to Shimla. Great experience because of the terrific views and the funny tunnels. December is cold; seriously. Arriving Shimla at sunset, priceless...

Incredible. From leaving the station to arriving in Shimla the journey was amazing. The scenery was astonishing.

This is a heritage track. The track has very picturesque views but journey takes lot of time as compared to travelling by road. If one has time then highly recommend.
