It's located at high altitude. From no car zone you have to walk around half km and then steep up hill for 10 minutes. 1845 by a Bengali Brahmin Ram Charan Brahamchari in the vicinity of Rothney Castle on Jakhoo Hill. That's why it resembles the Dakshineswar Kali Temple in Kolkata.[2] It is one of the ancient temples of the city and features a unique Hindu-style architecture along with blue coloured wooden idol of goddess Kali. Later, the British shifted the location of the temple to Bantony Hill

Kalibari Temple is dedicated to the Godess Kali Mata. It is near to the Scandal point. The large number of people pay tributes here. It is located at very ideal place and it is good place to see. The Mall Road and The Ridge are adjacent to the Kailibari temple.

I stayed at SImla Kalibari with my family from 05.03.2017 to 07.03.2017.We had been provided the room no 46 in The Vivekananda Hall. The room was airy, well lit, quiet specious with western styled attached bathroom and glass windows. The views from the big windows were simply breathtaking.Food was the cheapest available in Simla.Quality of food supplied in the dining was too good. The linens supplied were clean and adequate.
Only drawback is no hot water supply or room heater is provided. It was really tough to bathe or use the toilet in that chilling cold for us!!
From Mall it is merely 10 min walk. But from railway station it is a steep climb..so plz don't forget to hire a porter to carry your luggages. That would cost Rs 100 max. You can easily walk to reach kalibari from railway station instead of taking a cab which would cost minimum Rs 250.Moreover cab movement is restricted only up to Hotel Classic. After that you have to walk the remaining steep climb of 200 mts approx. Beware of the notorious monkeys of Simla..only if you would carry any food items openly in your hands!!!

The temple in the hill town of Shimla center situated near to The Mall and it is good 5 minutes walk far from The Mall, Few yards from scandal Point towards General Post Office..The temple is dedicated to Shyamala Devi (Shimla is named after this goddess), an incarnation of Goddess Kali. Temple faces heavy rush during Diwali and Durga Puja as many Bengalis visit this temple.

This temple of goddess Kali lies in the one extreme end of the Mall in the opposite direction of the church at the Mall. The way to it goes past the Post Office and the Hotel Grand. It's an average temple except with a story attached to it that the Shimla city had perhaps been named after the Goddess Shayamala whose statue it houses.

Temple of Shyamala Devi. Name of Shimla is derived from Shyamala Devi. You will find peace in this temple. A shiv temple is also allocated along with this temple. The beautiful statue of Devi Kali is an eye observer for all of us. You will enjoy the peace and the climate of the place. Many monkeys also gather the beautiful review of the temple.

Situated near Mall road. Best thing apart religious value is- it Offers breakfast, lunch and dinner at very affordable rates(eg. dinner was offered at Rs. 50 / plate). You need to pay in advance before 6 PM for dinner and it will be served at around 8 PM. It also offers cheap accommodation but you need to apply in advance months before.

I had been to this place twice.once during my college excursion and once with my husband.
During my college days I had stayed here for an about 7 days.Rooms were spacious and moderately clean.wash rooms good and moderately clean
The dining area had several rectangular tables which accommodates many at a time
Food was excellent
There is also an open area at the top which gives a good view of the mall
One thing the path leading to the kalibari is quite sleep and your will find monkeys.
They can snatch goods and foods both and even specs
And last but not the least we have the idol of Goddess Kali,a place where you will find complete peace
