Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Indian loom - avoid the place there are plenty of other souvenir shops and street stalls selling souvenirs and clothing that are cheaper. If you do go in and buy particularly higher value items make sure you purchase on your credit card. The tuk tuk/taxi drivers are clearly paid commission to take tourists here willingly and unwillingly and from the moment you enter there is a hard sell to buy anything. However I wanted a sapphire ring and was happy to browse the jewellery section. After being shown several I purchased one they remade for me from silver to gold which was delivered that evening to my hotel. On returning home we had the ring independently assessed to be told the ring was made of base metal with gold plating rather than the certified gold on their guarantee certificate. Had no replies to any of our email complaints, but fortunately we purchased on our credit card so awaiting a refund through their charge back procedure. Be warned to check any jewellery purchases when you get home.

They have a wide selection of diverse items, and some items are nice. However, expect high pressure sales tactics and very high prices. We purchased a suitcase becuase we needed one for our trip back home. They had a handful on stock but they asked for ove $100 for a small carryon - this was definitely something that could be purchased for half the price in the US. The quality was poor and we bargained down somewhat, but it the experience was uncomfortable and left a pallor over our trip, which otherwise was wonderful. This type of shop exists everywhere, but it was disappointing and I definitely would not return and would not recommend this shop to anyone.

Indian Loom is a complete scam for tailored cloths. Avoid this complete scam. They will have you pay upfront for tailored cloths and deliver the worst quality suit and never give your money back. The suits were literally a joke. They promised the best quality and that I would be so happy. It is all a scam.
Imagine being promised a custom tailored suite and getting a clown suit.
Avoid at all costs. I am hiring an attorney to sue them because their cheating is so bad.

Warning: My tour guide took me here to shop for ‘handcrafted’ gifts. I was exhausted after a 21 hour flight from the US and ambushed by the high pressure sales people trying to sell me overpriced rugs, clothing, jewelry and other souvenirs. The overpriced jewelry was junk, the rugs were nothing special. Unfortunately, I got swept up looking at the clothing and before I knew it, I spent $140 for a so-called ‘designer’ pants and tunic set. After I got back to my hotel and took a closer look at it, I could easily see it was just some cheap cotton thing ( no designer label or branding) that was worth about $20 USD. Total scammers! Needless to say, I have extreme buyer’s remorse.

I ordered 10 blouses to be made to size specifications and was assured it will be delivered to my hotel in a day as I was travelling. The blouses were delivered an hour late but not to the sizing provided. Out of 4 blouses for me, 2 were bigger significantly. The reason provided was they wanted to make sure there was a bit of room in the blouse. The last time I checked, no one wears two size bigger blouses. We leave space in the blouse to adjust but one does not actually wear a bigger size blouse. No remedy provided despite the fact I have reached out to Indian loom. All they care about is getting you in the door and over promising on delivery. If you are time poor, do not get anything done by Indian Loom. I now have to find a tailor to fix this, which makes you wonder why I even bothered getting it made to my size in the first place

Avoid the indian look shop.
Just Walk away. Avoid them. The it sales model is not pushy but aggresive and they move you from one section to another ecennif you say no and no. The auto rickshaw took me to them and i didn’t look at the reviews on the internet.
Long story short: last february the 4th 2024 i bought a ring in 18k white gold (i have the invoice that describes it) and they delivered me a ring in 14k white gold. The Rest of the story ? Phone calls (i was already far away from new delhi) without any apology or compensation.. Walk away. Javier (Spain)

The Indian Loom shop stay clear off. We were brought here by a auto rick driver and ushered in the door. It was our first day in Delhi so we were overwhelmed, in hindsight we should have been firm and refused to go in.
Once inside we were pressured to view items and brought from room to room. The building is like a maze we kept wanting to leave but were brought to just one more room. The products were nice but massively overpriced. The staff were forceful, particularly the jewellery section, I kept saying no I didn’t want anything but the staff ignored and started packing up a necklace. We bought two items just to be able to leave the place. The prices are high and there is no haggling. While we were there we saw other tourists being walked through similar to us. If you are brought here absolutely refuse to go in, be firm and walk away. Once they have you inside they will surround you and it will be harder to leave.

India Loom shop, Gole Market, 1 Doctor Ln, New Delhi 861983810
Indian Loom shop - carpets/ jewellery / art / silks / tailor / handicrafts.
Range from low to high quality products - however the experience is overpowering as you get escorted from room to room having everything (you never wanted to buy) more or less forced on you. The place is outrageously over prices!
This is how it works:
A number of locals - Tuk Tuk drivers / taxi drivers / people approaching you on the street or in cafes near by - all work on commission to get you through the door of Indian Loom. Once inside the basic sales techniques will overload you and you will soon feel forced to buy items at a much higher price. That is what happened to us and we found nicer similar handicrafts at 1/3 the price elsewhere in Delhi.
We arrived in Delhi having traveled around India. We were approached in a nice cafe by a very friendly Indian man that soon convinced us to visit the Gole Market.
When I asked about the shopping center name he could not recall - we later googled Indian Loom and found shocking reviews that has all since been removed from Google.

Gole Market is located right in the heat of New Delhi near Connaught Place. This place has some of the popular sweet shops Delhi has to offer. this includes Kaleva , Bangla Sweet House and Odeon Sweets.

Located near the Connaught Place. There are lots of handicraft markets here selling a variety of items. Lots of clothing booths plus local handicrafts.
