    Beautiful Cascading Bougainvilleas
We visited two entrances of this park. On one side it has a beautiful heart-shaped arch and cascading bougainvilleas. It’s a very romantic place to take some pictures. There are several tombs there as well, which provide some photography opportunities. There were many monkey babies playing around as well as hawks, chipmunks and other animals and birds. It’s a great free place to relax.

    Wonderful park
I really enjoyed my 2 hours walking around this park. I took bus 522 from Gole Market, which is convenient if you stay near Connaught Place. The bus stops right in front of one of the entrances to the park. The park is dotted with old buildings and tombs. It's quiet and peaceful, and there is a wonderful bird life there too. A highlight of Delhi.

    Absolutely Lovely
I loved the LodhibGardens, a cool and tranquil oasis in the heart of heaving teeming Delhi. The gardens are free to enter and offers lovely, shaded, leafy paths through the beautifully tended flowers, shrubs and trees. There's a peaceful lake too. Another highlight was the beatiful mausoleum and mosque that face each other at one end of the park and the huge red bricked Fort at the other. I had a wonderful hour or so just wandering and relaxing here on my first day in Delhi, a great introduction to the city's charms.

More than just a green lung in Delhi
A place not very frequented by groups of European tourists. Yet it offers a breath of oxygen and (relative) calm in the urban jungle and the pollution of the capital. It offers a typical Mughal-inspired garden and beautiful architectural achievements. Its access is free so that it is very popular with the inhabitants of Delhi. Prefer the beginning or end of the day (the park is open from 6 a.m.!) to see fewer people and enjoy the magnificent colors of dawn or sunset.

    Nicely-landscaped park
Surprisingly, this park is free - and also surprisingly, it was not overly crowded (although it was a weekday, which was likely a factor). It is nicely landscaped, and a great place to wander. As with many Indian parks, there are tombs scattered throughout the park, and there is also a small lake. If you are lucky, you may see a couple getting there wedding pictures taken, as it seems to be a favourite spot for that. There are a few wild dogs roaming around, and some monkey packs, but if you keep your distance they are not troublesome. It was fun to watch several Indian extended families on an outing (especially the grandparents enjoying being with their grandchildren). If I were to return, I would do a bit of research first, as the tombs all have some history associated with them, and there are no explanatory plaques.

Mid-day trip to the Lodhi Gardens
The Lodhi Gardens in central Delhi is a vast park area where people can walk, jog or even cycle. There are a number of old monuments from the era of the Delhi Sultanate and many of them are still well preserved. The overall maintenance is not bad. Unfortunately, the general public in India lacks basic civic sense which limits the ability of the authorities to improve maintenance. There is, however, a stray dog menace which must be urgently addressed. Pet dogs and, sometimes, even walkers are attacked by the more aggressive stray dogs. It is a place worth visiting.

    Peaceful, beautiful oasis
What an oasis in the middle of Delhi. Very peaceful, beautiful gardens, with people doing yoga, walking, chatting and having picnics. The monuments are very striking and not at all crowded when l went. I sat and watched the squirrels for ages and recharged my batteries for more sightseeing. And l saw a baby monkey! 🐒

    A must-visit destination - Pradip Madgaonkar
Lodhi Garden is a serene oasis in the heart of Delhi, offering a tranquil escape from the city's chaos. This beautifully maintained park is a masterpiece of Mughal architecture, showcasing stunning monuments and lush greenery. What impressed me most was the park's immaculate maintenance, courtesy of the Archaeological Survey of India. The gardens are meticulously manicured, and the monuments are well-preserved.The garden's diverse flora and fauna create a haven for nature lovers and birdwatchers. I spotted various bird species, including peacocks, parakeets, and kingfishers.

    An Oasis of Calm
Given how noisy the streets of Delhi are, you don't have to walk far into the gardens to be surrounded by nature and in an oasis of calm. It's a great place to stop and take in the surroundings. The architecture is great, the Bonsai garden is worth a look and generally a good wander round the manicured gardens. Definitely one to be on the list to see if you're doing a city tour.

    Relax in Lodhi Garden
During a busy work week in New Delhi I took some time out to enjoy the tranquility of the Lodhi Garden. Such a wonderful walk in a relatively cool area amongst green trees and birds. Lots of families enjoying the surroundings making the place a wonderful calm experience. A perfect place to recharge your batteries.

We spent an hour wandering around the Lodhi Gardens and it was a nice respite from the frantic traffic. The ruined buildings at the heart are interesting and clearly this is valued recreation area for the locals. Lots of birds to watch out for. Worth the trip if you have time in the city (I chose it because I had read a novel in which the Gardens were featured and I wanted to take a look for myself having read all about the place)

If you are looking for a respite from the hustle & bustle & pollution of New Delhi a visit to Lodhi Gardens is the perfect destination.
Whenever I am in Delhi I always pay at least one visit to the gardens & I generally make a day of it by firstly visiting nearby Safdarjung's Tomb prior to walking round to Lodhi Gardens. Afterwards I either take a tuk tuk or walk to the beautiful grounds of Sunder Nursery.
Lodhi Gardens are situated in a quiet , up market area , not really far from central Delhi. If you are feeling like a good walk you can walk all the way along Janpath from Connaught Circle to reach there. Otherwise , take the metro to Jor Bagh or Khan Market & it is a short walk from either. If you go to Jor Bagh you can visit Safdarjang's Tomb en route.
The gardens cover 90 acres & are extremely well kept & patrolled. Large expanses of grass are punctuated by mature trees ( some labelled ), numerous walkways & paths , flower beds & numerous seats.
Tombs & structures from the Sayyid & Lodhi dynasties are notable . Also the Athipula bridge which spans a lake near the garden entrance on Subramanian Bharti Marg. The bridge dates from the reign of Akbar & the lake features a high reaching fountain & many geese & ducks which have the use & safety of a large , fenced compound.
The gardens are very popular with Delhiites & you can see many families enjoying a visit with picnics , some with pet dogs. Also it seems to be a popular venue for couples to get videos made of themselves in their finery.
Ladies walk around with baskets of children's toys for sale , balanced on their heads & if you are fancying a hot drink there is usually a roving chai wallah to be found.
Near the Lodhi Rd entrance you will find some glasshouses & flower beds & a great cluster of flowers in terracotta pots.
Lovely place to visit - stroll about , sit on a seat , soak in the vibe.

The site is a large garden (hence its name) and the guide explained to us that it is very visited by people who want to isolate themselves from the daily noise of Delhi and spend some time amidst the silence and beautiful gardens. There is an old central construction, which is not in the best physical condition due to lack of maintenance for many years. We didn't think it was one of the best places to visit in Delhi.

Lodhi Garden is very nice and clean place for Picnic with family & friends.
There are lots of trees and well maintained grass along with jogging/walking tracks.

Sometimes dance/drama kind of activities happen there, which add to the energy of the place.
Washrooms are also usable.

Couple of negative points:
1. It can be difficult to find car parking in peak hrs (winter afternoon, summer evenings)
2. There are hawkers selling tea, chips, toys, etc.

The gardens are large and extremely well maintained. Don't hesitate to wander along the paths of this vast green space located in the south of New Delhi. Entrance is free and the place is a nice haven of calm after a day spent in the noise and pollution of the Indian capital.

Don't miss either the few tombs and funerary monuments, skillful mixtures of Islamic and Indian art, located in the gardens as well as the rose garden. During your walk, you can also meet the inhabitants of New Delhi, curious to chat with Westerners... without forgetting that they are always ready to immortalize this meeting with one or more selfies.

Lodhi Garden remains for me the most preferred walking area (grown up in the vicinity). However, from the perspective of a traveller a few more stars are justified. A mix of history and skillful landscaping plus a peek into the Indian way of life complements the place. Families playing, extended groups enjoy the sun and food, people playing, music, even a regular group discussing investments, yoga, bird watching.... It's a area that is calm and humming at the same time. History buffs would be definitely interested in the well preserved ruins from 15th to 16th century (pre Mughal).

Lodhi Garden attracts walkers, joggers, photographers, tourists, picnickers and people wanting to spend time close to nature. It has some monuments, including a mosque and tombs from the Ibrahim Lodhi era. One can see the beautiful blue tiles in some places in the Sheesha Gumbad and the Bara Gumbad the later also has some beautiful calligraphy on its walls and ceilings. The trees and flowers are well maintained and walking paths are well laid out.

Lush gardens with mausoleums, an ancient mosque and the remains of a fort. The buildings are beautiful as architecture but not in perfect condition, maintenance has not been carried out, despite this the beauty is unquestionable. Park animated by different animals (squirrels, colorful birds, hawks). Free admission

I loved visiting the Lodhi garden and see how Indian people spend their sunday. Many families were there, walking, doing sport, taking pictures in nice traditionnal indian clothes, painting, etc. There are several old buildings that are very nice to photograph. There were many photographs there trying to get the best shot of those building - through their reflection in a water puddle, for example. Many dogs hang out there as well, sometimes sleeping on a bench next to a fellow solo human. I loved the atmosphere and the quiet there.

Big park in the hub of the city with a few historical buildings. Perfect place to relax during winter afternoons. Plenty of docile dogs in the park and families out on picnic. Entry is free for all, but no food and water are sold inside the park.
