Visited twice, once in the daytime the other in the evening. A very impressive arched gateway, built by the British, and inscribed with the names, in alphabetic order, of some 47,000 soldiers who fought and died for the Allies in the Great War. Old structure. Tourist attraction. Nothing much around. Just the India Gate and few people walking around. Also few cyclist around the area. Try the local milk tea/chai. Good in winter.

Not only is the grandeur of the India Gate and the immaculately turned out Gaurds , its the entire winter evening experience that is pleasant. Easy access to app based cabs, sumptous street food and fund rides for kids.....a must visit in Delhi on winter evenings.

We went to India Gate around Jan 21 and they had blocked everything off for Republic day. It was still worth the time to get there and take the photos.

Good to see this in your evening tour, but be careful of unruly crowd that you might come across and the local street vendors.
