Just a few days back I decided to visit the National Museum once again, as I hadn't been there in about 10 years. What a shock! Many of the rooms were closed, and everywhere I went on the first and second floors there were workers, building materials, dust, dirt, and noise. I couldn't believe that I was in India's largest... This visit was not included in our original plan and I am really glad we went there. Such a rich collection of beautiful pieces! Going there is a must for those who want to have a glimpse of India´s glorious past. The audio guide was really useful too.

Not a perfect museum by any means, but a good intro to Indian art. There were some surprises, and that is always good!

A field trip to the National Museum was held for the Humanities students as part of our History project on the 22nd of December, 2016. Situated in the heart of Delhi, near Rajpath, the building is resplendent – covered with stone tiles and lined, all the way to the entry gate, with artefacts. We recognized statues like the Nataraja and... More

The museum has different halls for different periods in India's history. The museum shop is well stocked.

India has a huge history of various things which are worthy of being proud of, and National Museum tries to capture many of them under one roof. It's good for one time visit though I feel Better maintenance is required.
