Four-Day Private Luxury Golden Triangle Tour to Agra and Jaipur From New Delhi

305 reviews
To explore India’s Golden Triangle from Delhi, you’d need to handle all the logistics, including trains, hotels, cabs, tickets, and local guides. Leave all the planning to someone else on this private tour, which includes a driver-guide, tickets, and transport by private air-conditioned vehicle. Tour must-visit sights such as the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, and Amber Fort.

We asked our guide to take us to Dilli Haat, everyone said it is THE BEST place to shop. Our guide took us to this multi floor building with VERY high pressure sales at every turn. We questioned the guide that we thought Dilli Haat was suppossed to be an out door market, he acted like he did not know anything about this, which ANY guide in Delhi would know about, so clearly this was a scam to get some percentage of anything we purchased. As this was our first time in India, we did not know any better and took the guide at his word that this was the Dilli Haat everyone spoke of. To be clear the out door Dilli Haat which we later found on our own, IS WONDERFUL. This indoor Dilli Haat Cottage Industries is a scam. We bought a few small figurines and two scarves, which we later realized were grossly overpriced, but it was not until we returned home, that we realized the real scam. We spent about 150.00 U.S. dollars, which we later realized, was already being cheated, but now on our credit card statement is a total charge of 437.00 U.S. dollars! Do not go here, if a guide or taxi driver (a taxi driver did try to take us here later in the visit, lol) turn right around. It is not the market you are looking for.

Purchased beautiful quality vegetable dyed carpets in this unique shop. Great selection of quality merchandise. Sales people are a bit aggressive but this shop has really nice merchandise. Rugs shipped to me in the USA via DHL and arrived in excellent condition and on the promised date.

Our travel guide Chaman Duggal private tour company via Get Guide took us there during the old and new Delhi city tour. The guide told us that it took 4 hrs to make a suit and it's the best quality. Well.... They all lied and ripped off. My husband wanted 2 suits (€570) and sellers pushed him to buy 5. I didn't want any suit and they pushed me to buy 2 even when I clearly said no more than 10 times. One of the sellers said, come on you earn euros and the suits costs you nothing which was very inappropriate comments and irritating. At this point we should have walked out, but we didn't (lesson learned the hard way). They "measured" my husband and told us they will deliver the suits to our hotel the next day at around 9-10pm which was a lie. They didn't turn up at the time they promised, so husband called the tour company and half an hr later the tour company said they are on their way and should arrive at 23.00. They came at after midnight and blame the traffic for their delay but whatever.. we accepted it. The unacceptable part was the suits that my husband ordered are too tight and he told the suits company the next day aboit it, but they wanted more money to fix it and being impolite to him on WhatsApp because the suits didn't fit him and he (delivery guy) has to go back and forth...excuse me... you people gave him premade suits and pretended to measure him!!!!! We complained to the tour agent about their behaviours as well as to Get Your Guide about the tour and what kind of shops we were taken into. Get Your Guide stated immediately that they didn't provide refund (we weren't asking for it we just want to warn other tourists for which we weren't allow to). The suits didn't fit, the suits company are being a pain, and we only have a few hrs left before our departure, which we have already communicated clearly to the suits company during the purchase. We got really mad at them and the tour company that we were brought to one of their partners but claimed it was not their fault (of course not but when there are sales everyone gets their share) so husband said if they don't come at 12pm the same day we will cancel the order. Same guy came to our hotel at noon complaining and brought him a size bigger, there is no way they fixed 2x suits in that amount of time. They never measured him the first time around. We learned the hard way. After this experience we became alert and extremely firm the next time we being brought into shops again during tours. Do not be fooled by their hospitality on your arrival. Skip it and save your energy and time.

Fun to wander around. I was with a guide who is taking us also to some other parts of India, and in many cases he suggested waiting to buy some things that might be available at the source, so to speak. You do have to bargain and if you are with a guide make sure to ask if you will be seeing similar stuff elsewhere or if the stuff you are seeing here is unique.

A place where I always find regional souvenirs. Good on a pleasant summer evening, excellent in the winters, it is a place where you can just stroll around. There are kiosks of food items typical to various states of India, there is the Rajasthan kitchen, Kerala food etc etc. You name it and you find it. The vendors in the Haat keep changing according to the theme of the month, so it is always nice to visit the stalls for new merchandise . For children you find very typical toys , not found in market toy shops.you can find wooden kitchen set, flute, and many other cute toys. It is my favourite place to take my granddaughter. She enjoys the place .
