Delhi Haat is a nice area to visit if you are interested in traditional items. There are also a number of food stalls. There is a small entry fee to get access to the area. Very often they have fairs and exhibitions of handicrafts paintings, pottery, earthenware, etc. You may need to drive a hard bargain at times as they... More

Pulling up to the place it seems like nothing much. Walk in and find nearly everything you can think of that is made in India. They say government shop which means higher prices and no bargaining. Most things are 2-3 times higher than out on the street. If you're looking to quality or variety and price isn't a factor then... More

When I went there with my friends it was Ganesha festival. So they organized music event in the evening. We enjoyed the concert. The place meets you with handicraft bazaar. Lots of nice traditional stuffs are available for sale. I saw many foreigners there. By the way entry charge is 60 rupees for foreigners and 15 or 20 for Indians... More

This is a great shopping store that is regulated by the government and tax free. You can buy anything made in India; clothing, carpets, jewelry, souvenirs, custom made suits, etc. You do have to bargain however, you can easily shave off 25-40% of the quoted prices but I recommend doing it at the end and do not be afraid of... Lat week we visited this place to explore the various cottage shops and kind of things at display. My wife was quite excited and bargained a lot and bought some cotton dresses. We had also snacks at one of the shop and spent about 3 hours in this visit.

This is a nice restaurant to visit with family, only thing that hurts are the sales man who keep following you to buy stuff. Gives feeling like the street shops. Worst is that you cannot use elevator to come down after lunch/dinner :(

We took a local friend to haggle for us and found that initial prices started about 3x where we ended up. There are wonderful scarves here (kashmir, $3-15 each depending on quality) in endless variety, trinkets and baubles, table runners, quilts, brass, wood, shoes, ceramic, bags of all sorts and even sketchings and paintings. You name it! Have fun, bring... More
