Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Everyone comes to Chishang to visit Mr Brown Avenue but what was unexpected was the beautiful Dapo Lake. It is our first stop after setting out from the train station. We were fortunate to be there on a bright sunny day so you get wonderful views of the mountains, lake and fields set against blue skies which is what Chishang is famous for. There were not many people so it was really peaceful for a nice stroll and cycling around the area. It is a must visit place in Chishang.

This is probably the first stop for those on a bicycle heading towards Mr Brown Road. It is not a big lake, but nevertheless, a beautiful one given the tranquil waters set aside the mountains in the background. It's a good place for photographs.
Unfortunately, the cycling track around the pond is unsuitable for those taking the 2 or 4 person electric bicycle as the track is narrow and probably suitable only for those on a single person bicycle. For those on a 2 or 4 person electric bicycle, you have to cycle on the road around the perimeter of the lake.
Toilet facilities are available at 2 separate points around the lake: the first at the visitor centre, and the second point is on the way to Mr Brown Road.
Near the visitor centre, there are small boats that looked to be for rental, but it looked close when we were there about 1pm. In any case, a ride or walk around the pond seemed good and pleasant enough.

The 'pond' is a like small lake. There is an approximately 1.5km nice walking/cycling path around the lake which also consists of a boardwalk. The lake is mostly covered with beautiful lotus plants against the backdrop of mountains. Many birds and ducks can be sighted in the lake.

Rented a bicycle for NT100 (for 7 hours ride). Cycled from the train station to the pond took about 10 min. The view was great. It was peace and calming. Good place for picnic and relax.
