Get off the ferry and get a scooter and then tour the island. Not much there outside the natural beauty and the diving, but well worth the effort. Plan an escape, high winds often ground the flights and cancels the ferry so keep that in mind when you go.

The trip to here is considerably short with around 1h boat drive. If you get sea sick easily prepare some medicine or plastic bags because the ride is comparable to a roller coaster 😁 The island has a lot to offer. We went to different viewing spots and scuba diving! You can find crazy shaped cliffs, sea water hotspring and... More

Stayed in the dorm a couple of nights. Eva speaks English quite well, but is not a good host. I was very sick and she suggested me to walk 30 min. to the village for dinner... I asked her if I could get some plain rice from their own dinner, against payment. She told me there was nothing left. Though... More

Decided to visit the island as part of a tour of Taiwan as it has been called an undiscovered gem . I would agree that it was a beautiful island. However we did exhaust all entertainment within two days. there are no nice beaches. The two towns are quite run down, the locals not particularly friendly and the food is... More

If you want to scuba dive the island is great. We were not able to find some snorkling companies, but to be fair we had little time to search. The island also has some nice scenic spots.

The snorkeling is so awesome! It is easy to travel around the island by scooter, go to wherever you want, stop at any spot you like, totally free! It is a pity that I didn't see the Milky Way after coming out from the hot spring, because my friends were so enjoy scooting fast that they couldn't stop to see... More

To get to Green Island from Taipei, you have to first take a 5-hour train ride to Taitung City and then take an hour boat ride to the island. My friends and I (mostly me I guess) were really excited about the boat ride because apparently it was crazy. If you go on Youtube you can find videos of people filming... More

Compared to Orchid Island, Green Island caters much more to tourists, and there's no shortage of places to eat and shop. Activities on land and in the sea abound, such as snorkelling, cycling and hiking, and the natural saltwater hot spring is a lovely place to relax after a long walk or cycle ride.
