Completely exhausting climb. 1201 steps, but they are spread out. Well worth it. Wear proper shoes/trainers. Flip flops won’t cut it. Amazing history. Great views.

Come early when the queues are shorter (still busy) and to avoid the heat. Bring plenty of water. Long climb to the top but lots of opportunity for breaks. View from the top is so worth it

It will be open unless heavy rain as that is consideres dangerous. Theae days it doesn't rain, so all good. To avoid crowds, i suggest you start at 7 am when they open the ticket counter.

Yes you do until the end where it diverts yo another way. no human traffic jam as most visitors are courteous and give way especially to those who have some difficulty climbing. Enjoy your climb. worth the exercise
