Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We went there because our taxi driver drive us there for lunch... we don’t want to see the garden but they force us to see the garden for free! The tour was about 5min and then the guide told us that same student (who was 50+ years old) studying Ayurveda massage... in the end they drag us in the shop, where we buy very expensive oil and cream witch we then see all over the sri lanka for 10% of the price that we paid in the garden!!!

Our tuk tuk driver convinced us to go here since we had extra time. We started with a tour around the "demonstration" spice garden. The guide was knowledgeable about Ayurvedic practices and treatments, and you can technically have a free 5 minute massage (donation accepted). However, once we got to the gift shop, everything was WAY overpriced, and the products are available in convenience stores all over Sri Lanka. Find another spice garden you can trust.

The tour the guide gives is very informative but also too fast. He tells a lot about all the plants and what to heal with it. He just puts hairsjaving Creme on you, without asking for allergies or if it’s okay. After you get some nice tea and 2 guys come for massages. The massage is very good! After the guys sit next to you and the guide asks you for a volunteer donation.. you kind of feel forced to it.. after you go to the shop and he shows you all the products, it’s almost not possible to watch at it alone. The prices are European.. very expensive.
Afterwards we kind of regret it to spend money there. It felt more like a touristtrap than a nice aurweda experience.. would not recommend it

Free of charge entry to the garden and the guide walks you through all the spice trees. He is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Then you are served tea with a donation based ayurvedic massage with oils they prepare from natural ingredients. They have a shop where you can buy products they make. The prices are a bit expensive but they gave us a discount and the products are authentic and helpful. Purchased aloe vera cream, oils for hair and joints and massage and nice lotus fragrance oil. It’s a tourist scam. Tuktuk drivers will bring you there. Ayurvedic plant medicine with absurd high prices. They’ll give you a tour showing all the Ayurvedic plants (which is actually pretty nice. Afterwards they’ll give you a donation based massage. And finally you’ll come to the shop where you can buy all the plant medicines for ridiculous prices. They’ll tell all lies trying to sell it. Karma will get them for this.

An absolute MUST DO for any homeopathic, natural medicine lover. We arrived here at the suggestion of our Tuk Tuk driver. The guided walk through the garden was free and very interesting. We were then given a massage which you pay by donation. Now where they make their money is in their shop that they sell an incredible array of natural medicines, oils creams etc all made from natural ingredients. Now take your credit card because some things are a bit pricey but others are good value for money. Sadly they don’t sell online as there are many things I would like to go back for. Now not for everyone but definitely suitable for those who appreciate the medicines of nature.

What's wrong with you? Money leeches and scammers. If I ever met this lying scammer again, he will be in trouble.
Don't buy anything there. The tour is nice, the massage too. But the shop is a scam.

Before you buy something check the prices carefully. Ask the price before you pick it.
Products are way overpriced.

Have not bought anything, but did see a clear lack of understanding Aruvedic science and health care. As there are so many of in Sri Lanka, this herbal village is a trap, that you should not fall for, but playing games with them can be nice.
