We got a great insight into the process of making tea with our guided tour around the museum. The guide was very friendly and a free cup of tea was provided at the end of the tour. All in all, a pleasant place to visit.

Very interesting to see the process of preparing tea leaves. The museum is worth visiting to see and read about some of the history. The guided tour was appreciative to see what processes occur in the preparation of tea. The surrounds are lovely, and you...More

We stopped here on our way to Kandy for an hour or so. It was quiet when we arrived, although a tour group turned up just as we were heading out. After paying the entrance fee we had a whistle stop tour of the machinery...More

My husband was more interested than me... They show how the tea was made years ago. I am not sure I would go if he did not ask for it.

I learned so much about the making of tea on this trip. It was just wonderful. It's a great cultural lesson as well when it comes to British imperialism and the tea trade. I think I was just oblivious to the history behind it.

Nothing special given the outrageous entry fees; one can visit other tea factories in and around the hill country much more cheaply (if not free) - and see the production process to boot. If one has no time and only in Kandy, fair enough; otherwise,...More

We took a tuk tuk up to the museum expecting an engaging experience. My expectations were not met. We were shown around the museum by a lovely hostess after paying our admission fees. We saw machinery used in the tea making process from the C19....More

Having seen enough temples, my wife and I decided to visit the Tea Museum instead. Although they levy a charge, you are given value for money, unlike many other things and sights we experienced in Sri Lanka. A guide goes along with you to explain...More

A lovely tea museum situated atop Hantana. The weather is different and you will feel like you are in a much colder clime than Kandy. Tea is tasty. They have small boutiques to sell them as well. You can read a lot of history here....More

Guides so knowledgable and friendly, definitely worth the 800Rs entry fee. There were no negatives about this visit - it was amazing to learn so much about tea. Much better value than temple of the tooth

Sorry, I have the same answer as above. News to me. Try going to a tea plantation/processing centre. There is one in Haputale, man.
