The lake is full of wildlife, loads of fish, terrapins and monitor lizards. It’s a pity some locals around the lake just harass women and stare which ruins the vibe. This is something common all over the city though.

While you’re visiting the temple make also a stop at the lake. It’s so beautiful and you get nice view on every side.

Nice lake in the centre of Kandy, you can do a walk around it and it’s particularly beautiful at night with the city lights in the background. Downside is that there is lots of traffic and pollution,

It is a lovely leisurely walk around the lake but if you are tempted to take the 15 minute boat ride make sure it doesn't rain. There is no hiding place on the lake.

We wandered around the lake for a while and whilst it’s nice it wasn’t any thing close to a highlight. The lake is a bit dirty too which takes away from the experience.
