To avoid the crowdy Kandyan innercity you can walk around the lake, enjoying the birds and ducks. From the opposite site of the lake, you can make nice pictures of the Temple of the Tooth. On hot days there is enough shade from the trees...More

This is a Great Lake built around the temple. When you go to the temple it is hard to avoid missing it. It is worth the walk over and there were some swans there as well.

Kandy is a chaotic city with clogged roads and polluted air. In the middle of that is this small lake with murky water and teeming fish life. Locals and tourists alike compete at throwing bread to the fish, which emerge in masses. You won't be...More

Kandy lake is the water reservoir you see when you go to the Temple of the Tooth Relic. Pretty, relatively clean, walking around it offers some moments of peace and tranquility and excellent birdwatching moments (we saw eagles, kites, various water birds)

The lake is right in the city centre. Suggest you take the time to walk round it (only 2.2kms) There are several interesting things to see, including the queens bath house, currently under renovation.

It's pretty and you'll visit it by default considering how close it is to the Temple of the Tooth. It's nice at dusk.

It is just a normal lake near the temple of sacred tooth relic so you will pass it anyway. Nothing special about it.

I spent a pleasant afternoon sitting on a bench by the lake and gazing over its waters, to the busy sounds of the city. A relaxing and memorable episode in an otherwise hectic life!

The hotel is located near the lake, which gives an opportunity to enjoy the view. Tropical greenery and peace. The room is spacious. All the necessary amenities.

Had a long walk around the lake on a full moon day. It was a wonderful experience! Best time may be early morning or late evening as the road traffic is a distraction at other times.
