It was a lake between the hills & in the center of the town. Location of the lake was unique. The road around the lake offers a contrast between the hustle bustle of the town & the calmness of lake.

From conversations with our host the traffic is a relatively new thing, at least at the current level. The path around 3/4 of the lake is effectively a raised pavement beside a very busy road. The odd pelican and a few cormorants ply their trade in the muddy waters to one side accompanied by the constant sound of car, bus... More

We took a quick stroll after our visit to the temple. Perhaps we did not plan the timing of the visit well - it seems more pleasant in the evenings - but this is not a place we would make special plans to visit.

This lake is at the foot of the Kandy Tooth Temple and its nice to walk around. The fishes inside are holy for the locals and you can see a lot more wild animals. Cool place!

This is right next to the Temple of the Tooth. At night you can see a large Buddha statue reflecting off the water. Very nice. This is something you can do if you are already planning to visit the temple.

I was here after my visit at the Tooth Relic. Local people sitting around, or just walking enjoying the view of the lake. It's a good place to take pictures. People selling stuff at some areas of the lake. Couples walking hand in hand. Families enjoying the scene. I think this is a place to go after you visit the... More

It is a nice peaceful place. We had a nice walk at sunset, took lovely picture of the lights and you can see the Buddha on the hill all lighted up. You can then walk to the palace where they do their prayers and then walk to the main high street.

It's a lake located in Kandy town, just opposite the shopping mall. During our 2 days stay at Kandy, it was raining most of the time, the water looked dirty after raining day. Few ducks are in the lake, sometimes you will get to see snake by the lake.

When you visit Kandy you are bound to take in the lake at Kandy. It's imposing on the landscape and lots of accommodation has lovely views onto the lake. Very pretty to walk along and if you can come for the lovely colours at sunset.
