From Jaffna town, it will take a about one hour drive (approx 35km but road conditions will slow you down) to go to point where you have to take a boat for a 15 minutes ride to reach the... More

You should go there by a boat. It takes about 15minutes to travel by boat. Rs. 50 per one head. Go at least 6am to the boat. Heavy crowd. A sacred place. Load Buddha has been to this place.

Getting in and out is tough for the elderly and less agile. You sit in the bowels of the boat as it were and take off, to the Nagadipa Island. Our driver... More

This is a must visit place if you are in Jaffna. The tour might take around half day, but it is worthwhile. You have to go to Kurikattuwan and then take the ferry from there to Nagadeepa. Better to take hats & sun glasses.
