The first one who ordered a fort to be build in what is now Herceg Novi was the Bosnian king Tvrtko in 1382. After his rule various European powers and the Ottomans left their marks in altering and adding to the fortifications.

At 2018, entrance cost is 2 euro. You don't really get much for that! There are views to be had over the bay and town, but that special.
There's Kanli Kula (citadel) at the top of town for the same price and that's far better...More
