Among the valuable religious monuments and religious art that attract the admiration of the tourists there is also the Dragomirna Monastery, in northern Moldavia, Suceava County. What impressed me is that the monastery holds the tallest and narrowest church ever founded. It is amazing that...More

Monasteries in Romania are pretty uniform; inside the fort there is always a church, but this monastery has ample doors that are not alike and they were made with advanced craftsmanship skills (see photographs). I also got to see some monks on site and there...More

Dragomirna Monstaries one of the hidden gems of Bucovina. A unique monastery due to its architecture: the ratio between hight and width is so high that is almost unbelievable that the construction didn't colapse. Beautiful elements of stonecraft. It is worth a detour.

This monastery is a must-see, although it is a bit away from the rest of Bucovina's monasteries. Impressive walls and painting! Well preserved and nice hospitality from the nuns.

Dragomirna, less known and visited than UNESCO WHL monasteries, is situated just a few kilometres from Suceava. Heavy fortified, with the tallest medieval church from Bucovina, has nice frescoes and a small but beautiful museum.

Built in 1609, the monastery is fabulos. The architecture is impressing and also the paintings inside. You can find also natural medicines prepared by the nuns at the small shop inside. Don't miss it if you visit Bucovina area.
