It's an okay day hike. Weirdly, the summit doesn't really offer an amazing view - it's the shoulder (a meadowy area) that will give you a good pay off. Doable in the afternoon if you're a reasonably good hiker. :)

After a 1.5 to 2 Hrs. hike surrounded by towering Pine Trees and Cool Breeze of Air.. the view at the ranch and at the top of Mt Ampacao gives you a peaceful feeling.

you can climb Mt. Ampacao w/out guide via Ambasing School but if you want to traverse to lake Danum the path is hard to find, so you will traverse to the same path you took going up... 3hrs time allotment... the path to smart cell...More
