Although Volubilis seems to be on many travelers' itineraries, the absence of any other visitors on the day that we and our friends visited Lixus was a boon for us but also puzzling, since the site deserves more attention. Since much of the site remains...More

We were lucky on our visit to be adopted by a ‘guardian’, Jalal, who was a brilliant source of information, but even without his friendly enthusiasm it is a remarkable visit. Every era of Moroccan civilisation is represented (except the Vandals) from Greek cyclopean walls...More

This place, near Larache, its far from the touristic guides, not crowded, still virgin. 90% of the archaeological place are still buried. The hill rises 85 m above sea level. The Phoenician found this place eighth-sixth centuries BCE. Punic, Mauretanian, Roman and Islamic remain there...More

The views are quite nice, but the ruins are not very well tended. A museum and café are in the works. It's worth a visit as it is so close to the city.

Not much history to find out from this place but it is still a place must to visit, no public transport but you can walk from city center or just hire a taxi

The bronzes are in Rabat and practically all the mosaics are in Tetouan, but the site itself is worth a walk through if just for the scope. We visited on a sunny day in Feb. when we shared the site with two goats, so we...More

I was there late afternoon in December; not exactly a touristic peak time I believe... only few tourists at that moment: the only reason is probably that this site is far from touristic cities like Fes, Meknes and Marrakesh. The site is as an exceptional...More
