Cascades d'Akchour are located near Chefchaouen, a wonderful town in the. North of Morocco. In fact, the roite from Chefchaouen to Akchour is fantastic, you can see some beautiful landscapes of Rif Mountains. In Akchour, it is possible to do a hikking to the waterfalls. From the parking, if you walk 45minutes in the correct direction, you arrive to some little waterfalls. It is a perfect excursion to do with children and olders and at the end you can see beautiful waterfalls, while you drink a tea. Also, if you continue, in about 90minutes, you arrive to the best waterfall: a big one with a very beautiful lake, where you can relax and drink a coffe, while you see the most beautiful views of the place. This part is for adults, but not for children or olders. It is not difficult, but sometimes you need to walk on a tree trunk to pass the river or jump between rocks. The excursion is beautiful and the final waterfall is great!

The most beautiful waterfall in all of Morocco can be found here. An unspoiled, tranquil beauty. I went during winter (wet season) so the waterfall was glorious. A must see if you're in Chefchaouen.

We had a wonderful day with Mohssin our tour guide. He provided transportation to and from Chefchaouen, let us set our own pace, was so much fun to talk to, provided us with delicious refreshments, and even paid for us to use the bathroom when we didn't have small enough change. The hike itself wasn't too difficult. There is a more challenging hike to the God's Bridge that takes you over the bridge, but from what we heard from Mohssin and other hikers, that path is quite dangerous, and the view is much prettier from below. There is also a beautiful pool underneath for swimming. Beware, the water is quite cold, maybe around 60 degrees Fahrenheit, but it felt great after hiking in the August heat. We then hiked back towards the waterfalls which were very pretty. It was a lot of fun people watching and seeing the children have so much fun swimming in the pools. Obviously the temperature of the water didn't bother them at all. I'm from Florida, so for me it was COLD. We walked all the way up to the top of the trail which ended in a pretty private pool with a small waterfall. We spent about an hour there enjoying the water and cooling off. We then hiked back and returned to Chaouen. It was a really great day, one of the highlights of our trip to Morocco. The natural beauty was breathtaking. The hiking all around was about 3 hours, and nothing too strenuous. If you're staying in Chefchaouen, I highly recommend Morocco No Worries Tours for either exploring the city or to take a day trip to Akchour.

The walk is very nice and easy, you can find places to buy water or eat all along the way next to the river... The landscapes are very nice and you can see monkeys too... The only thing that it's a bummer is the trash and garbage, which is everywhere... Even in the waterfalls there are plastic chairs and tables like a bar, and we didn't like that at all... But the rest of the walk is very beautiful
