This museum is located inside the Chefchaouen Kasbah. It is also called Ethnographic Museum. It was built within a 14th century fort in 1985. It is divided into six areas. You can see traditional weapons, models of embroideries, music instruments, folk dresses, pottery, wooden and copper utensils. Traditional clothes belong to four major tribes of the region: Lakhmas, Ghzawa, Bani Msara and Rhouna. Beautiful silver jewellery can be seen here too.…

60 dh to enter this small ‘museum’ with nothing explained in English. It was interesting to enter the kasbah and be immediately transported from the bustling square to the peace of the inner courtyard garden. There’s a tower to climb which gives a view over the town and up to the Spanish mosque and a 1 room ex prison. Interesting but way over priced. Other than walking around the medina and walking to the Spanish mosque there’s not much else to do in Chefchaouen.…

One of the nicer Kasbahs - with lots of explanation in Spanish but why not also in English? That was surprising to me...

Kasbah Museum is the museum located in Kasbah (the main fortified building in the town) and it is located in Place Outa el Hamam, the main square in the town. Kasbah is a very beautiful and traditional building and inside you can see a very beautiful gardens Andalusian style. Also it is possible to go up to the towe and see wonderful views of the town, the Spanish Mosque and surroundings. Inside Kasbah also is possible to visit some expositions: a paint one, an historical obe and others. Very interesting.
