Chefchaouen Cemetery is located out of walls of the old town. In fact, I only see it, when I walk until Spanish Mosque, from where you can see a little cemetery close to the old city and other one, when I finish a walk from Ras el Maa. Both beautifuls. (See also Chefchaouen Medina, Kasbah Museum, Spanish Mosque, Place Outa el Hammam, Rad el Maa Waterfall and Grand Mosque)

This cemetery is not big or anything that deserves a visit all onto itself. However, if you hike up to Spanish Mosque, I recommend coming down back to town using the trail that passes the cemetery (from the mosque - and facing the town - it is the trail on the left). I enjoyed walking down this trail more than the other trail (it is a more difficult hike) in terms of the views it offers.

Entrance to the cemetery is from the Avenue Melilla just after local grocery shop Epicerie Abdeladim, on the opposite side of the road - on the southeast of the city outside of the old city. Small and quiet divided paved path going uphill in two parts, the Chefchaouen Cemetery points to the remnants of a once vibrant culture. Visitors may notice that few (if any) of the tombs have inscriptions written in Hebrew. Type of the tombs is similar to those on another very old Jewish cemetery in Tetouan. Simple stones with amorphic symbols usually, probably from the 16th century. There is not gate, as the path is used by locals to reach their homes on the top of the hill. There is on the entrance place commemorating the place.
