We visited as part of a trip and was beautiful, these bears are gorgeous and the rangers are amazing taking pictures through the binoculars on your smart phone so you get a close up of the beautiful babies. Excellent time had and would recommend x
The bears are contained by fencing so feels more like a zoo than the orangutans sanctuary next door. There was even an orangutan resident at the sun bear centre which became a more interesting distraction. The bears don't do much but are very cute.
It was great to see the work this team are doing to rescue badly treated sun bears, and rehabilitate them to their natural state. The bears are very visible around the site, and are entertaining to watch. Our visit was made even more special by...More
We visited one afternoon and were really quite sad to see a couple of bears who were exhibiting signs of being frustrated in such a small space, with no shade. We asked the ranger/guide who told us they are unable to put them with the...More
I have no doubt that the people here are doing valuable conservation work, it is just that this doesn't really translate into a meaningful tourist experience. The animals that are on display are in pens with electric fences just like at a zoo and they...More
An amazing place to see the Bornean Sun Bear up close and in natural surroundings Being a conservation center it is sad that the bears are there but at least they are safe
I think the bears rate second to the orangutans which is a...More
I have thoroughly enjoyed every moment available to watch the bears at BSBCC. The forested bear pens allow the bears to exhibit their natural behaviour climbing some 40m up the trees within their enclosures. The bears are all in good condition indicating that they are...More

We went as part of tour with Orang-utan centre the Bears were elusive and there are high walkways it is really pot luck how much of them you see but we did see and photographed 'whole' bears there is a lot of poking through bush though just a head or a leg. When we left the bears the orang utan centre was closed as it does have feeding times. I can only suggest that you co-ordinate your visit to see both a call to centre from Hotel would help if you have no guide/contact over there. Enjoy! they are definitely worth a visit. Just be patient.
