Took young teens to pay respect. They gained insight into the history of this area. Somber and enlightening. Strange person hanging around which made us feel a little unsafe. A shame as people should visit here and learn about our military connection to this country....More

Quite an experience, not an Aushchwitz effect but you certainly won't leave without a heavy heart. The exhibition explains all. Very sobering.

Beautiful park in memory to fallen soldiers. Incredibly interesting information provided. Was a great experience. Grounds and information center kept beautifully. Recommended.

Definitely worth a visit to get a better understanding of the history of sandakan. You can get a minibus out there for 2 rm and the little museum is rleally nicely done in English and Malay.

to be honest i don't recall seeing a cafe, there is a visitor centre which had someone in, wouldn't really like to say if they will look after your bag though. Have you tried emailing them

We used the same taxi driver for all our trips and left all of our luggage in the vehicle with him. He was happy to wait and take us to the airport.

Not on the park- I think you would have to scourge that before you go in. Nice idea though.
