Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Friendly local vendor provided comprehensive information on history and current status of this historically interesting site. Vendor specializes in preserving blow fish skins, exquisitely crafted with uniquely designed head wear. Must buy for tourists.

Actually, the place is so so, but since I love history, just walking around and feel the atmosphere, while imagining how their life were back then, is a quite nice experience. Not to mention that what's left of the fort is quite nice, with ok view towards the hill at the back of the fort and the beach in the front.

If you are here, make sure to walk around for a while circling the fort, and across the street just to search for a spot to take picture of the sea.

If you spend more than a day at the island, you can use 1 day to circling around, which means, after the Foo Lin Kong, you will certainly stop here, then the whispering rock, before reach the floating mosque.

Though some people said it's not worth it to visit this place as your main destination, but rest assured, this place is still worth it to spend 30 minutes to relax around the fort.

If you are seeking a big ruin of a Dutch Fort probably you will be disappointed. It is a small ruin in the middle of a green landscape. Do not expect too much.

This is recommended for history buff as it gives a little glimp of yester years. There is no entrance fee and you might want to take selfie especially at the top of the fort. It gives good view and you could see the surrounding Kampung (village).

Located in the small island of pangkor. Not much " history'' on this fort. Mostly " reconstructed' by the museum authority on the actual site.Surrounded by local houses. The local taxi/ van ( pink color) will take you there for usd7 n back. This is the only ' historic' site on the island.Best to rent a motorcycle for usd7 for a day n you can ride / cover the entire Island in 2 hours.

At one glance, just a simple ruin, but interesting to note the history behind it. No entrance fee and deserves a one time visit. Close by, there is excellent nasi lemak (a local Malaysian dish of rice and spicy anchovies) that is sold in a blue roof top house - very tasty.

Worth a visit as there's not much else to do on the island and its free. Tiny history lesson on some boards about the fort which was interesting enough however it covers such a small area you almost feel like they're trying to flog a dead horse by advertising it as an important thing to see. The fake concrete canon was probably the worst part after the litter.

Honestly, the fort is tiny! You can cover this place in 5minutes. It is nicely preserves and beautiful.

We were happy to find the nice souvenir shops. We found the gem at this shop selling blowfish lanterns, and have hats and knives with fish skin on display. That was so unexpected and mesmerizing. Great find. The shop owner is very friendly and will tell you all about how they are made.

Very little information available about this place when you get here . Although it is free to visit , there is not much to see and a lot of tourist stalls spoil the historic content
