Located in Qadisha Valley this monastery is complex where you can find beautiful religious architecture, a grotte devoted to saint Anthony and a museum with the first printing in Middle East. There is a restaurant too. It is a starting point to take a nice hiking around this monastery.

St. Anthonys Monastery is beautifully set deep in the lower Qadisha Valley, surrounded by towering cliffs. Dating back many centuries, it is an important centre for the Maronite Church, and retains the original caves in which the early monks lived. The Church, set into the Rock is very beautiful, and the whole place oozes serenity and prayer. There is a... More

This visit is like a walk through history. It does not feel as if anything has changed to attract visitors etc. it's a holy place and so much can be seen around it. The cave, church and valley are like nothing I have ever experienced. I leave a part of my heart with every time (and my prayers).

The views are breath taking. We were lucky to be there on a gloriously sunny day. The little towns and villages seem to be stuck onto the sides of the mountains very precariously. Well worth the early start to experience such a magical place.

A place for peace inside the nature where you can visit an ancient monastery and church carved in the stones. The scenery around will bring peace to your soul.
