I took a Mekong Kingdom Cruise here, and had a guide who shared the different aspects of Buddhism that surrounded the Pak Ou Caves, like how each Buddha pose signified a day of the week, how Lao people would come here with a statue every...More

The roads are bumpy and muddy and sometimes steep for the last 10km section to the village to get to the boats to bring you across. The caves are not very spectacular. The challenge is in getting there especially if you are riding a bike...More

We did a guided tour that combined the Pak Ou caves and the Kuang Si waterfalls, and it worked out to be a good amount for a day trip. We went to the caves in the morning, which was perfect because it does get a...More

The highlight for me was the cruise down the Mekong River and taking in views of the countryside. The caves itself were a sight to behold and make the effort to climb the extra 200 steps to the top.

I didn't go for Kayaking as flow of river was strong. But there is public transport ferry that leaves at 8.30 am every morning from main Pier. To and fro Charges are 60000 LAK per person.
