The building itself is nice to see with German architecture written all over it. Inside there are a handful of museums showing some old pictures communication cameras.... I recommend visiting this place. It is also near the downtown where a bunch of other tourist attractions can be found. You can them all in the same day or two.

The most beautiful building in Tabriz. It houses a museum inside, but it´s well worth to go there and visit it outside.

Perhaps there have been so many magnificent sights in Iranian cities, including the Grand Bazaar in Tabriz itself, the municipality building feels a bit of a let-down. Still, it has an interesting small museum, and a carpet hall displaying large carpets woven according to the Tabriz design.

I visited the Municipality Building on recommendation of tour guide Ali and it was worthwhile. The stately European style building is surrounded by in a well kept park. Lovers of Persian carpets should not miss the main hall. You will find the most finely knotted large carpets of Tabriz design. I recommend Ali as a most knowlegable and passionate tour... More
