Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Located on the top of Small Mountain.
Included the excellent view from lighthouse and superb views of sea and town when you reach the top.
* Should stop over for a drink on the way up / down during the sunset  / sunrise time.

Long winding road up the hill to get there, definitely a hot walk (but luckily there are several food and drink outlets along the way and also near the top)...the reward is a great sweeping view over Vung Tau!

Vung Tau Lighthouse is unsurprisingly on the top of Small Mountain. It can be found by following the Hai Dang Street from Ha Long. Its a long windy path taking some delightful views, passing coffee shops, yogurt shops and young romantic couples posing for their selfies. The lighthouse also has a newly opened museum which is fascinating. If you like some exercise, it's definitely worth doing a walk up, otherwise jump on your bike to a spectacular view all across Vung Tau City,

After a nice asphalt road you reach the top of a hill where it is located the light house of Vung Tau. The views are great and it is a very popular stop for all visitors of the city. Definitely a must. You must go!

Definitely worth going up the lighthouse. Excellent view from lighthouse and superb views of ocean and town as you climb the hill. Stop over for a drink on the way up. Most drinking places have outstanding views.

Vung Tau Lighthouse was a very important destination on our schedule. It is located on the top of Nho mountain (Tao Phung mountain). However, the sun was very hot and most of us forgot to bring our sun hats, so we had to take some motorbikes to go up there. Although the motorbike drivers looked very old, they drove around really fast. Despite not being able to climb the mountain with our own feet, we could feel the cool air and the gentle breeze on our faces while traveling on the motorbike. Upon arrival, I felt overwhelmed by the beautiful scenery of Vung Tau from above. The large, high-rise buildings, along with the clear blue sky and the calm sea, were all very stunning. I feel very jealous of the Vung Tau locals because I have always loved nature. In Hanoi, interactions between people and nature are very rare because Hanoi is the capital of the country, so it has to develop and exploit the surrounding nature and resources more. In the distance stands the statue of Lord Jesus along with Minh Dam mountain, both looking extremely great and impressive. Visiting the Vung Tau lighthouse is indeed a wise and highly recommended choice for tourists.

This was definitely a worthwile excursion! The walk was a nice powerwalk, but with better view than the hike to the Jesus statue. Well at the top there is a wide square for viewing the city and the sea side in all directions. Great spot for watching the sunset. And the walk back down is lit, so no need to worry about darkness. Also, sweet restaurant on the way and easy to get a Grab, if you prefer.

To be honest, there really isn't a lot to see in Vung Tau but it's hugely popular destination in the weekends for Saigoners to come to, to escape overcrowded and polluted Ho Chi Minh / Saigon.

It's a pleasant walk up to the French built lighthouse and the views of Vung Tau are some of the best in the city.

The coffee shop near the summit is typically a wee over priced but that extra 10 to 15,000 Dong is probably worth it to sit, have a cool drink and soak in the view.

This was great little puzzle to solve. If you use the Lonely Planet Books to try to work the location out keep away from the map. The map is seriously out of scale. Look for Lucy's Sports Bar, there is only one road that goes up hill near that. Thats the one just keep going up and up lots of people will stop at spots on the way up. Don't stop till you get to the very top and are charged 5000 to park your bike. Walk al the way round the views are lovely.
