Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The beach itself is not very impressive. There are vendors trying to rip you off by renting old tatty umbrellas and deck chairs at high prices. You are even charged to use the change room, toilet and fresh water shower. Don’t waste your time going there.

It's all about perspectives. It's not your quiet, picturesque Southeast Asian beach, nor is the color of water comparable to those in Thailand. However, the sand is fine and soft to take a stroll on, the long coast line is perfect for a morning job. And if you are into cultures, you will be intrigued by the morning dancers and Vietnamese families on this fine beach, if you don't mind the crowd on the weekends.

We took a 1 day Klook tour to Vung Tàu and it was amazing!!
*service was excellent! The pre trip communication can be dicey on some tours but this tour communicated frequently and clearly so we knew what to do and what to expevt, very professional. Our guide Anthony was knowledgeable, friendly and entertaining, and answered questions easily, and he was excellent.
*transport van was new, clean, comfortable, not shabby and old, and had wifi THAT ACTUALLY WORKED, driver was friendly and didn’t smell like cigarettes.
*the 3 attraction stops were just right in terms of interest, beauty, time spent, etc. They were well chosen and well balanced for this day trip
*the lunch was fantastic! On these tours usually the lunch is not the star, but here is was! The restaurant was right on the coast, high quality facilities with beautiful clean decor, great service, delicious multi course seafood feast with quality ingredients, nothing was questionable or rubbery like some seafood lunches, this was quality and you could taste it. We loved the Thai hot pot, but all were excellent.
*beach time was awesome. It was at a place where chairs, shade, changing rooms, hot showers were all provided, and the water was so warm yet refreshing. We could’ve stayed all day there it was so fun, but will have to come back as it was so relaxing. There was snacks, cold coconut to drink, ice cream bars and stuff to buy if wanted, it was fun.
Take this tour if you want to do Vung Tàu in 1 day; you won’t regret it!

Great place for a night time walk. Night life on the beach front is exciting, plenty of places to eat within walking distance. Right down the street from the Diamond Sea hotel.

A worthy place to visit. Standing at the hill of Vung Tau Beach area. The Christ’s Statue cannot be missed. His open arms are receiving every single one that walks up the hill. You can climb inside the statue & see the beautiful view of the Vung Tau Beach & City.

We spend three days in Vung Tau as a mini getaway from Saigon. It was my first time here while my friend had been here multiple times before being a Saigonese local. I loved the beach side charm and slower pace of life with long walks on soft sandy beaches. The town & beach area reminded me of a smaller version of Da Nang, another place that I really love. There are a lot of delicious local restaurants and some truly fabulous seafood ones right on the ocean side. Overall Vung Tau did not disappoint. I can see why it is such a popular vacation spot for people from Saigon.

There are 2 beach areas in VungTau - the front beach and the back beach.
The front beach looks out to the bay and some ships. It is close to the White Palace, the aerial tram up the hill, and the shopping mall. It is not as close to hotels and restaurants as the back beach.
The back beach has many restaurants, lounge chairs, beer concessions and is across the street from several more restaurants and hotels. It also has a view of the Jesus statue on the hilltop.
The two beaches are about 3 miles away from each other, so it is possible to view both before picking the one you prefer if you have the means to get from one area to the other.
I never looked for public bathrooms since they were available at the restaurant where we ate, but as a rule (in Vietnam), bathrooms can cost money to use. Also, the toilets are usually pit toilets (even in the restaurants) and don't always have toilet paper, so be sure to carry extra tissue or toilet paper with you at all times.

Visited Vung Tau Paradise Resort for a day trip on a weekday. There was nobody there except for us. 600k vnd (26 usd) can rent 14 loungers under a covered picnic area with tables. The sand is powder but packs like concrete when wet. The beach is clean except for empty shells and small crabs digging holes. The water is very warm but not clear. It could be the powdery sand churning in the surf. VN sun is very hot. Go in the morning, evening or cloudy day.

Start from the middle. Beginning, the beach at your back. Lê Hong Phong street.
You travel up by the main street, from the beach behind you, to the mountain.
By the Communist monument. You can visit. Nice view.
The first roundabout.
The Pullman. Palais des Congrès, on your right. A place to try. A coffee on the terrasse. Near a streaming water sound, from an aesthetic waterfall, in a black stone wall.
Under a large sky.
Never forget. In motorbike, the circulation is always at risk in Vietnam.
Every time you want to change position, check directly by yourself.
Look at briefly behind. Even for 1 mm. I don't joke.
Vietnamese are brave people. But country men in motorbike.
At the second trafic circle. Baku street on your left. Turn right.
Go ahead for 1km. You will see a Maximise sign bakery.
Stop here. The bread is delicious. Order 2 baguettes. A kind of french bread with butter. Wit a little taste of brioche.
Go on.
200 m far ahead. You reach a main street on your left.
Go there. Turn carefully.
At the next corner on your left. There is a wonderful shop.
It is one of the reason you take an airplane to Vietnam.
A real chinese, modern, duck roast shop.
Put your motor bike on the pavement. Order one duck for 4, or an half duck, for you.
Full is 15 dollars.
Dont miss the delicious prepared liver and gizzard fresh duck.
Order 2.
Bread. Roast duck. It looks like picnic. Right. Go ahead. Follow up the road until the last roundabout. There is a Russian restaurant behind. Kossak. Try a time. Odessa atmosphere. From the old russian colony, still working in petrol here.
At the roundabout, turn left.
Until the next large junction. Lê Hong Phong.
Go to the mountain.
At the final crossing, 500m. Turn left. There is a new building.
And, on his left side, a folkloric road up to the mountain. Steps into.
Follow the asphalt ruban. You drive happy, consciousness, rise up yourself, between the jungle, and the china sea. A french panoramic road from the past.
At the clean top. After it is a trek.
You will arrive in a small hamlet. The families here belongs to the small military and radio post.
They keep the mountain safe.
On the ridge side, take a seat on the last indigenous Coffee.
Friendly. Order Nuoc Mi, cane sugar juice. With some fresh fruits. Pine apple. Mangoes.
Under bougainvillea flowers trees, the view on the sea is fabulous.
I advice you to go around 5 or 4 pm. Not working the morning.
The people here are nice. Be too.
Freely, you can eat. Order simply, some cups, and chinese sticks.
They lends you graciously.
Means. Do it. Let a clean table behind you. Vietnamese are sensitive on these.
Don't forget. You are guest in a secret place for local people, in Vung Tau.
Never speak louder.
It remain open a little bit more than the sunset. Until 7 pm.
When you get down, with your light, you can get lucky. And cross some local life.
A snake crossing. Enjoy to see a part of wild life. Don't play with the small animals.
Maybe, from the presence, back on the hill, of a famous Zen Pagode. First junction to your right, when you start. Careful, the road is steeply upward, and cornering.
Under the influence of the buddhist prayers, there are not agressive. But, don't be a fool.
When you leave, the forest ethereal atmosphere, offer you the large panoramic road, french art style of road building. Travelling in immersion in the landscape. Following the corniche.
To swim nicely, I recommend you, the front terrasse, of the Imperial Palace.
By the Sirena restaurant, and his néo-romantic style swimming pool.
With some Greek statues. And nice retro-cabins.
The view on the beach here is fantastic.
You can order Coca Cola, some dishes, as the grilled octopus.
Profit the place. Its remember me Deauville, in France.
Here, you can let safely yours clothes, on the seats, of your styled metal table, above.
On the terrasse.
And swim freely on the sea. With a vast sky, of the china sea, above you.
In the summer season around 5 pm., the hours become blue. Like a paradise door. Designed on the clouds.
Offering an amazing beauty.
To finish, go back dinner, or take a real french coffee, on my fellow's friend. Bistro 9. I have already written a positive review on him.
It will be your Q. G., during your delay.
On the dark, and the banian tree. In front of this sacred tree, marking and old village place.
A zen, and simply friendly, gastronomic french dinner.

What area in Vung Tau is the best tourist area with beach and bars. tia
Written 30 January 2020
Ask a taxi to take you to MK Bar and then get out and look around . You will see at least 7-8 other bars. The drivers understand MK Bar easier and its a decent bar night and day for meals and drinks.

Yes you can bring your own umbrellas etc. just like any day at the beach.
