Lovely tile and mosaic work on the facade

Like most of the public buildings of its time, the tile and mosaic work on the facade is intricate and beautiful.

My trip to Bukhara, Uzbekistan was not planned. I was not interested to go but decided to just follow the group with almost zero knowledge about this country. To my surprise, I must say this is my best trip ever.... Mir-i-Arab Madrasah is one of those specatular buildings built hundreds of years ago in Bukhara.

The Madrasah is a masterpiece of Islamic architecture and one of the must see sights in Bukhara. Located in the centre of town, the entrance to the madrasah is simply wonderful and words find it hard to describe. This has been wonderfully restored and the intricate workmanship and designs are of a class of their own.

A current day working Madrasah with students studying both the Koran and other subjects. Impressive architecture, stunningly colourful. Situated on a square opposite a mosque, close to the ancient Kalon Minaret and the trading Domes souvenir area. A must see.

This madrasah is one of the must see sights in Bukhara. The design, craftmanship and architectural splendor are impressive and well worth a visit. The tile and brick work is amazing.

Fantastic islamic and oriental architecture. Working religious site with tons of character. Together with the Kalon minaret and the mosque opposite, the ensemble rivals the Registan in Samarkand for sheer iconic beauty.

When walking around Bukhara I am convinced you will come by this impressive building. It is a working school for studying the Koran (and others). I believe close to 200 students

This ancient madrassah is one of the most prominent centers for Islamic world of the CIS. The grand mufti of Russia, as well as the former leader of Chechnya, and many others were educated here. Not only is this a feast for the eyes, it functions as a high school for local students aspiring to pursue theology in university.

The most sublime building in Bukhara, although as it is still functioning you can only gaze at the facade
