Square that comes to life in the evening. People watching is rewarding. We were there towards the end of a festival and everything was alive.

The square has some nice buildings and the pond, although always smelly, with the old trees is actually rather nice, but tourism has taken over and especially at night we found this an eyesore in the otherwise lovely Bukhara. Colored moving lights, loud music, terrible...More

This is a swell place for an ice cream, a dinner, a glass of wine and a somsa, or just to stroll by at night when it's filled with locals having a wholesome time with their families — this is the town square and it's really...More

Tourist packed heart of Bukhara. 2 years ago it was more authentic. Now it is a souvenir shop area with hotels on each step. However, there is no decent coffee anywhere. Visit because you can’t really avoid it. Best to visit after sunset, when people...More

The area is surrounded with lovely little restaurants and close to the Jewish ghetto area. Muslims and Jews lived for centuries side by side. A very pleasant spot to sit under the trees and rest in the shade

This famous pond is interesting to visit for its historical value of medieval times, but is not as lovely as it could be. The ancient gnarled marvelous mulberry trees are in even worse shape than in 2006 when I last saw them, and seem to...More

Walk around this once or twice and then pick a place to get a cooling drink and watch the locals and hoards of tourists and enjoy the architecture and atmosphere.

Right in the heart of Bukhara - surrounded by cafes, restaurants and loads of shopping - is Lyabi-i-Hauz. Very lively place - with lots of tourists and entertainment.

Outdoor restaurant. Food is local fare, nothing peculiar. There is also air conditioned room if you want to avoid the scorching heat of summer months. Staff is responsive, attentive and some speaking broken English.

What a fantastic location but below average food. Bukhara in general lacks service industry, big opportunity for improvement
