This is just opposite the 'ark', built in 1712. A mosque in typical Uzbek style. This was the mosque used (and still is) for Friday prayers attended by the Emir when he was around. Also, know as the mosques with 40 pillars, there are 20...More

This is close to the Ark and it is also a good place to purchase a map of the city, which also includes Samarkand. We searched for a map in Bukhara and finally found one here. We didn't go inside, but the outside of this...More

Enjoyed visiting this lovely Friday mosque with its 20 wooden pillars and pool (a reflection gives it 40 pillars). Not far from the Arc Citadel. It is an active mosque.

Peaceful and welcoming holy place, mostly blue tile work and paining inside is breathtaking and the exterior too is wonderful. Avoid prayer times as this is an active mosque

Beautiful Mosque with 20 Wooden Columns situated directly opposite the main entrance to the Ark Fortress / Citadel. Immediately in front of the mosque is a small pool in which the Mosque is beautifully reflected. A must see whilst visiting the Ark / Citadel.

This is a beautiful mosque both on the exterior and interior. There are twenty columns at the entrance, and they are reflected in the nearby pond of water. So it appears as forty columns. The interior is also quite special.
