Ban Buthom is a village 14 to 15 kilometers east of Surin on the highway to Sisaket. In this day of automated assembly and instant plastic moulding of so many household appliances and utensils, it is reassuring to know that somewhere people still craft things...More

Perhaps it was the season, but there was very little activity apparent in this village. A huge shop with a small selection of (rather expensive) baskets, and a few people in the nearby village. There was plenty of evidence of the materials for weaving, so...More
