We stayed in the old city close to the historic park & arrived early before it got really hot & the tour buses started arriving. We didn't hire bikes as the area is not huge & it's pleasant to stroll around. The area is really well maintained & may be a little too neat for some tastes. But it's a... More

The historical park is a great day out. It's very well priced at 100 baht and this allows you to see so many old ruined temples. The grounds are stunning and the temples are truly amazing. Well worth a detour off the beaten Thai track

Beautiful historical park with many monuments surrounded by greenery, a great way would be to cycle around the park, can be rented at the entrance.

The Sukothai Historical Park is a must seem on your visit. You can walk, tram or cycle around the Park. The only criticism of the Park is that if it was open a little later into the night you'd get some amazing photos. It's just a small thing really. Still go

we rented a bike for 30 Baht each (directly in front of the entrance) and cycled through the park - best way to explore since the area is quite large. the heat is quite intense (we went in March), would rather recommend going in the early morning or late afternoon.

Fabulous historical park, we were surprised at how lovely it was. Recommend you cycle round - bikes can be hired cheaply at the park itself.

The heat was grueling during our time in Thailand, so we made sure to get up at sunrise to avoid the day during its hottest. The sun cast beautiful golden hues over the ancient city which made for wonderful, frame-worthy photographs. It was the dry season, so much to my disappointment I did not the quintessential shot of the Buddha... More

Wonderful place...better visit early in the morning or late afternoon. They did a good job on keeping the historical park in very good and clean condition. Try to catch mini light and sound by every first Friday of the month, splendid.

The site is very nice with ruins surrounded with lakes, flowers and palm trees. Best is to rent a bicycle to circulate in the park which has beautiful ruins in different locations.

We were debating whether to fly directly from Chiang Mai to Bangkok, or make our way down by bus stopping in Sukothai. TBH, after the arduous bus journey, Sukothai itself was disappointing. The truth is – Thailand's ruins just can't compete with Angor Wat or Bagan, no matter what UNESCO heritage title you throw on it. The latter are incredible... More
