Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The museum is just okay. There are a lot of artifacts from ancient Sukhotai and lots of Buddha statues, but not with a whole lot of explanation as to their place in history. One fascinating thing, however, was the history presented on the birth of the Thai alphabet. I read Thai, so I found the display where they showed the evolution of the Thai alphabet to be really awesome.
I would normally give this place 3 stars, but I'm deducting 2 stars because of the racist pricing. You are charged more if you are white or any color that is non-Asian.
Also, this place doesn't have air conditioning, which is a bit bothersome since, well, Thailand is hot.

Tip: ticket is 150B, but Thais just pay 30. A huge difference.
Cons: awful bathrooms. Rude staff. Overpriced.
The museum is a waste of time and money. The 1st building is completely irrelevant. In the 2nd the most interesting thing is the original walking Buddha.

While the museum is somewhat dull in explanations (especially in English) - it's a must-see after visiting the Sukhothai ruins. All the figures, ceramics, day-to-day artifacts and some larger sculptures that were found in the temples are on display here, which completes the impression about the achievements of the Sukhothai era.

The entrance fee is 150B and they provide free locker to place your belongings. Basically there are two buildings open for visitors, but the main building consists of two floors has the most collections to display. Another small building is closed but visitors can view from outside via glass windows on the display of collections. The small park at the back of the buildings is very relaxing and beautiful with some collection display too.

Nice break in some airconditioning after the heat of the historical park. Contains many artifacts from the local area. What I didn't like was the foreigner pricing of 5 times the Thai price. Thai drivers license not accepted as you need a Thai ID.

This is a small museum, and a welcome air conditioned retreat after a hot day of temple viewing. It contains historical artifacts from the area. It also has a poster explaining the various mudras of the Buddha, so be sure to take notes! It will enhance you appreciation of the Buddhas you see as you tour the ruins. Entry fee is 150 baht for foreigners.

Went through the museum in the afternoon after touring most of the major elements of the UNESCO heritage site by tuk-tuk in the morning. The Ramkamhaeng National Museum will take you a one and one-half to two hours to walk through including the grounds. It has a great collection of small items that came from inside the park. It also goes into great detail of the history of the area and of the different temples in the park. Individual displays will teach about many different subjects including but not limited to; the meaning of the different poses of the Buddha, how to make stucco used on the temples and clay pottery made in the area. If you are here for the heritage site and have the time, go to the museum. You will be glad you did.

Sukhothai achieved its golden era under the 3rd King - Ramkhamhaeng, who also created the Thai alphabet and language. If you are wondering who is King Ramkhamhaeng - he is the guy at the back of your 20 Baht bill.

This is a good starting point before you enter the park . There is some good artifacts but unless you are a true historian I wouldn't linger more than an hour . There is so much more to see outside!!
